I think UTM's version fits better, even though Socius' and tanner's look more worked through. Socius' somehow reminds me of the lolipop guild...

So far I like Socius' the most. My only critique point is that the grass is a tad too green, especially since there's a huge contrast to the ground now. And yes, it's also a bit too colorful all in all. Maybe one set of flowers less would be good, or just less flowers overall.

Here's my humble try of a holdable flower. (123 verticles, 194 faces)
...

So nice! It would be good to see it in game, we have got useless pies, we could have flowers...  any hope?

Please note:

The foliage in "Serious Sam: Second Encounter" (v1.5) is one that looked rather perfect to me. One reason will have been that the transparency starts smoother than in PlaneShift. We should have a way to modify the start and end range of the transparencing zone.

The most important drawback is probably that the edges of the opaque texture part is sharp. So a huge color/brightness difference to the texture below does a lot harm. But I am not sure if soft edges are supported well for this effect (technically: not DXT1a, but DXT5 would be nice).

Take a look at /art/things/items.zip :)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

:D Well I've kinda updated  mine previous one, This one is totally hand made, coloring pixel by pixel (And the use of some gimp filters)  I've made this and i think it's fair to say it doesn't look anything like the original one (With that I mean the original game texture)
PNG:

Shot:

PS: To make it work in game I've done this:
Open the abocve PNG file with Gimp.
Then go to your PS map, art, world and unzip/unpack the hydlaa_ plaza.zip file.
'Save as' The PNG file in the unpack hydlaa_plaza map as "grass_short01a.dds" (please note that you will need the dds plugin for Gimp to do this).
When you do this a window will pop up asking for the Compressing type (I used none) the format (I used default) and two tags, Click the tag saying "Generate minimaps" and then hit 'enter'.
Woopi, the file should be saved now :P if not you've done something wrong  ;D anyways then you will have to 'repack/rezip' the whole map again (Note that you do NOT put the 'map' hydlaa_plaza in the zip file, but JUST 'the content') Power up your client and TADA there they are, Socius's smelly flowers :P
