blank books you write in.. "BROKEN"

   Maybe it is just me but has anyone else wrote anything in the new books and then come back the next day to find it blank.  I spent 4 hours writing a story for a role playing event and now i come back today to write some more , just to find all my work yesterday was gone  .. Why release the goods if they are not working.. i am not Bitching to much i just think that is something testers would have found by writing in a book and then checking it the next day.. you should remove them from purchase till a later date when they will be fixed.. it is just very frustrating when you spend 4 hours setting up a role playing event to have it all go to waste... and yes i know it is still being tested.. but what was going on when we went back to version .18 and the post said:

"The server has been restarted with the 0.3.018 version. We decided to postpone the release of 019 to allow engine developers to perform better testing. This phase was taking too much time, and we decided it was better to give you back PlaneShift even if in 018 version! To connect you just need the released 018 client you find in the download page."

well i guess you cant find all the problems... that is why we play.. so just saying it isn't proper so it needs to be removed so others dont waste their time..  thank you

The problem where book content is wiped every time the server crashes is known and if a fix hasn't been created yet, I'm sure it will be done with the next major update.

Why release the goods if they are not working?

Well because they have to find out if they are working or not by releasing them. If they knew they weren't working in advance they wouldn't have been released. We are testers first and players second. Some things just don't go wrong in a controlled server which the Devs use, they only go wrong in our server where everyone can mess around iwth things.

That message you quoted is long past, we are playing version .019 now and it's slowly being removed of all the bugs that came along with the new additions.

That is not what i am saying.. "WHY LEAVE IT STILL FOR SALE IN THE LIBRARY"  they removed many items since the update  and they added thing .. i am just saying they need to remove the books from the library purchase list.. people will buy it thinking it works and get upset when they spend 2 hours writing something in it.. just to have it erased... if you remove it from the list there wont be an issue

I don't think we've removed many things since the update. In fact, we usually try to remove nothing - and instead submit patches and fixes. I know it's frustrating to lose all your work, but Laanx is still a test server and PlaneShift is still a game in open development. This means that there is very little polish right now and a lot of foundation building for features.

Ultimately, we don't remove broken things - we fix them.

I asked Talad to commit the patch that neko quoted above me.
When the server is rebuilt, and that should be somewhat soon, the books will work.

The only thing I know to be removed lately is the new glyph selection ... and only because using those glyphs caused server crashes. Maps have never been removed, although they haven't worked for a long time.

Great . thank you for the responses.. also the Plate male gauntlets were removed from this update.. just saying.. but great to hear the patch will be implemented soon. i was checking the bug tracker and saw the correction had been made.. i am thought it was already fixed. .i will wait for the next fix with anticipation.  thank you for you time and responses everyone...
