I've been away from PS for a while, as I have lost interest in PS for many reasons. I recently logged in to say hi. Took me a few times to get in while server wasn't down, but made it in, only to discover that I was stuck sitting down. Turns out glyphs that used to weigh 0 now have weight. I have been saving a lot of glyphs, for personal use, investment in case of another money wipe, saving for friends and new players, or to sell. Basically a "virtual business." But now that glyphs have weight, I'm now stuck on the floor, overloaded and unable to move. Thanks again devs.
After dueling was made far less interesting, I lost some interest in the game. After a couple GMs thought that since Drahlian the "Dwarfslayer" was a racist and therefore the player behind her must also be a racist, I've been threatened by GMs (Hadfael, DaveG, Syilph) with banishment for RP that caused many, many people to thank me (anyone around during the Dwarvesbane/Dwarven Star war will know what I'm talking about). Long story short, almost all of the dwarves that Drahlian "harassed" were secretly good friends with me, the player. Yet "Game Masters" (what an oxymoron that is) failed to see this. This sort of control over RP by those that don't understand RP makes me lose interest. I even saw a GM here in the forums who wanted to "thank all those that are good at RP," and she had the audacity to thank one of her own characters. Some "leadership" we have here.
Anyway, long story short, I have been playing less and less PS over the last year, and quit altogether weeks ago, and doubt the game will ever improve enough to interest me again. I started when the version was 0.3.011 if I remember correctly, in December 2005. Twenty months, and the game's hardly changed. Talad recently said that the game must first go to .4, .5, .6,...,.9, before it ever gets to 1.0, a "finished" game. It's been 20+ months at the .3 stage. How long, I wonder, before it is complete? I'm betting the answer is "never."
Most of my PS friends left long ago, but to any that remain, farewell and happy Planeshifting (standing around waiting for monsters to not be impervious after the latest crash).
