Derghan ball not working

I recently recieved an item which supposedly allowed me to understand the Derghir language. This item doesn't seem to be doing anything for me at all though. I have tried equiping it, "/use" and even giving the item to the NPC I wanted to talk to. I've also heard from other people that their item doesn't work either.

Now I'm not sure if this is a bug or just some content which isn't implemented yet .. or maybe a consequence of the NPC client being loopy .. so I figured I'd mention it here first.

Just to make sure: Did you receive the Derghan Bell from PC or NPC?

I recieved it correctly from the NPC, there's no problem there.

Hmm... I need to know two things:

1) Were you asking them for quests or talking about other stuff? Other stuff not implemented yet ;)
2) Did you try talking with them at different times? If they gave out quests recently, they won't be very talkative :P

I haven't tried asking for quests yet, only talked to them in general ... which gave the same responces I got before I had the bell.

I guess that gives me the answer I was looking for though, thanks Draklar.

The same responses as before -- is it possible that you talked during the downtime of the NPC superclient (while monsters were impervious)?

Quite possible, hence me coming here and asking for similar experiences. Haven't had the time to go back there and try again yet but when I do I'll update this thread with anything that changed.
