Missing Textures in Magic Shop route

On my client, the textures in the road leading to the Magic Shop from Hydlaa has turned black. The ground, trees and grass have all turned black, as well as the problem with the bushes having a checkered texture. I checked the 'hybdr.zip' file and noticed that all of the *.dds textures have disappeared. I've tried reinstalling the game but the textures still do not appear.

There's no point in a screenshot because all you will see is a black screen. I'm having to use magic to light my way through the path.

Slightly confused as this is not happening any other people I have asked.

reinstall cleanly.

if that doesn't help, redownload the install exe and install cleanly.

the other option is to check to see if the updater will find the missing files and fetch them for you.

EDIT: I downloaded the installer again and it works now. Thanks. But I still get the checkered bushes...is there a known fix for that?

Checkered grass is a long known bug. It is related to some kind of non-functional sharing of textures between several maps.

iv got tons of stuff thats checked grass bush's walls table chairs holes buildings most og oja is cheacked for me..

Log off.

Log back in.

And you see the textures -- where you appeared.

Walk to the other town, and you see the same other way round.

Right. It all works now. Thanks to all who posted. 

I knew it was a bug, but I didn't know if it could be fixed yet.
