We discussed about having last names open, with the warning pop-up Karyuu mentioned. It will be done. For first names we cannot lift the rule because the name is the "unique" way we identify characters in many in game functions. So for now it has to be kept unique. For old accounts/characters we went through the deletion of some older accounts, and we will go through deletion of old characters also in the future.

That first names are unique is just fine for me.
I still don't see the sense of forcing a last name, but we all have to accept compromises  ;D

Keep up the great work

It seems odd that in a database driven game you would not have unique integer primary keys to pin your functions on, Is it a limitation of your back end or database design? It would seem that each account ought to have such a key and the character could be identified from there. This is not meant to be a criticism, I am curious and know just enough to be dangerous. :)

Well it depends, true in modern times our last names are past down through the generations, however, in medieval times your last same  was often your fathers name with the suffix -son so Joe's son Bob would be Bob Joeson.  Personally though, my character did away with his last name so, if I am forced to have one RP will be a pain.
