Can nott connect to server... but dont know why

Hello,

I was installing the game with the PCLinuxOS Packagemanager Synaptic. My version is 0.3.018
I opened Port 7777 in my router and as I know there is no firewall running on this system.
The servers.xml says:
<serverlist>
<server name="Fragnetics" ip="laanx.fragnetics.com" port="7777" />
</serverlist>

I saw some Posts that says not to upgrade but how if
the update manager also gets no connection.

What did I wrong?

You need the latest version to connect to the server, client version 0.3.019. We even have a sticky, the very first sticky in this forum section:

Client Version is 0.3.019 - INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS!

So run the updater

You might want to check here more often: http://www.planeshift.it/  . They have had, for awhile now, a main page entry on the release of 0.3.019. Also, don't know how yours will go, but my updater never works right on Linux. If I run it under Windows it runs fine. If you get this problem, just download it from the downloads section from the homepage, thus bypassing any updater issues you may have.

Sorry, but I,m a Linuxnoob, the updater does not work,I downloaded the new version...
but what should I do with the .bin

doubleclick does not work ;(

what I have to type to the console for the installation?
install *.bin planeshift just copies the bin to that directory...

You have two options. 1. right click on the file, and select properties. On the properties window, there should be a tab called Permissions or something like it. Click that and select "Is Executable." Then double click it. 2. go to the terminal and cd to the file (if its in your desktop it would be: cd /home/username/Desktop). Once there, use ./filename.bin (exactly that way, just change filename to the file). That should work.
