Greetings

I have just started playing PlaneShift and I think it's great!  You are obviously serious (without being obsessive) about role playing.  What a welcome relief.  It was that, more than anything else, that attracted me to this brave new world.  Let me add, however, that the graphics are fabulous, and really cinched the deal.

I am pleased to read that, in the future, you plan to sell dwellings rather than allow players to build.  I have seen the chaos that building makes of the landscape - how it ruins the verisimilitude of the game.  Stick to your guns on this.  As a cheaper option to buying an entire house, perhaps you might allow players to rent/buy rooms in game controlled houses.

I know you have received your fair share (unfair share?) of negative criticism, but I have none.  The game is still in development, but even so, it is very enjoyable to play.  I look forward to greater things in the future.  Well done PS Devs!

Welcome! Glad you like the game, and hope you become as dedicated as many of the others have become. As fas as your timing, we have entered a "No Mining" era, so just as a side note, it will be back (it better be anyways).

I'm absolutely new to this exactly 5 minutes to be precise and I must say after playing ultima online, world of warcraft, and everquest; it's nice to see a quality game put out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg

Um...I guess we'll take that as a compliment.

So thanks.

Welcome Indeed!

I look forward to meeting you in game. For me Planeshift has been the ultimate RP game. Of course you can run around killing things and levelling up if that's your thing, but the setting here is so suited to role play and more importantly, the characters this game has atracted make this so compelling.

Read the foruims here, especially the Creative writing, and you will get a real flavour of the passion with which some of us approach roleplay.

So, indeed, welcome, seek us out in game, and enjoy!

Remember, dpmunchie, that Planeshift is still an early-alpha tech demo. In the next few years of development until 1.0 release it will flower into a commercial-quality game (e.g. WoW/EQ/EVE), and yes, be free forever.
