griefing

Griefng seems to be used as the term to indicate when you cause others grief. What are the limits of what is allowed?

I have seen a couple of times someone drag an ulber or 2 into the tavern area of Oja shouting ulbers. Which is followed by some heroic type saving the town. A good time to grab the popcorn and jump on Trasok's roof to watch the show.

Recently a few people dragged 2 waves of 4 to 5 ulbers each into Oja and dumped them in front of Jirosh where the weaker players go to help keep the rogue population in check. That could have been nasty.

Where do you draw the line between a bit of fun and down right cruel?
Beware the grue.

That's why we have GM's. We don't have to draw the line, they'll do it for us and assess every situation to determine whether players are outstepping their bounds.

Personally I keep one thing as a rule of thumb ... "If my actions take another player's desire to play away, then it's grieving."

Yup, and then its a good time to stop the actions.
But, you never know what someone else don't like
And problems arise, when other player feel griefied and is loosing will to play, you loose will to play too, because of that ;P

As a GM I take the view that the cities have guards and those guards wouldn't let them wander around the streets so I just kill the ulbers when I see it happening, if they are being deliberately lead to interfere with others game play then I would consider further action depending on circumstances.
If you see it happening often or in a manner that can affect others /tell a GM or make a petition
