Good Citizens of Yliakum,

The Yellow Journal valiantly stands by any and all of it’s headlines, it’s contributors, and the ownership. Neither this publication, nor I (Editor-in-Chief) have ever insulted the quality of The Yliakum Herald, nor requested more than an apology and rectification of a situation that was unfair to the fine people who purchase their publication. Further more, a sponsor that sponsors his own prize is hardly a sponsor at all and The Yellow Journal will not shy away from pointing out this and any other injustice it comes across in this beautiful realm, regardless of the perpetrator’s affiliation.

In response to the expectations of a public apology I can offer only one reply to the editor of The Yliakum Herald... After you, good sir.

[[OOC:  No one that I am aware of has ever shouted anything derogatory against The Herald. I am not sure where you heard this information but, I would be as interested in finding out if this indeed occurred, considering it would indicate someone attempting to smear The Yellow Journal as well as manipulate policy at The Herald.

I have never heard anything about devs wishing to approve or attempt to censor RP news articles, if a dev would care to either confirm or deny this that would be much appreciated.

The Yellow Journal and Guv were formed purely to enhance RP and the RP environment of PS, and were created with an IC back-story and potential story arc. If people wish to boycott the Journal, attack Guv, create their own newspaper, etc, as long as it is IC and RPed then I say more power to them. ]

Edition 7 contained an advice for people to suicide - was it dev-approved? Or should it just be considered an "evil approach" of the Herald?

In the first edition the Headline was: "Scandal Rocks the Yliakum Herald"
He blow up an whole article about dubios schemings we made with our sponsors.
He wrote about a faked contest, but in truth the contest winner sponsored his prize because, he like most others greatly appreciates our work.
Guv called everyone "to boycott the Yliakum Herald" withouth knowing the facts.

Someone won the contest and then decided to sponsor the money.

[I have gone out of my way to avoid responding to your baseless barbs regarding everything from what you deem as an unacceptable length for a newspaper, to your implied opinion on the intellectual capacity (IC or OOC? I’m still not sure if your earlier post was some kind of OOC personal attack or IC) of someone that would read The Journal, to allegations that I was simply copying you.

However, this last post was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.


a. Feel free to send those OOC logs to a GM, I was nothing but polite, complimentary to The Herald, and logical. If anything you would only be condemning yourself.

I have no idea what this means or how it relates to any articles in The Yellow Journal.


c. There is no mention of The Herald in the second edition and yet you still are whining and complaining that I have “F-ed up" your RP, and somehow, though to my knowledge I have never met or have had any interaction with the previous Editor of The Herald, driven them away. Truth be told, I’m not even sure who this previous Editor was. 

Unless people are actually boycotting your IG paper (which obviously isn’t the case) I don’t see how you honestly have much to complain about. As the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity. If you would only be able to see past your OOC nose, you would see that this was not some personal attack but RP. If your character felt so strongly about the article, something along the lines of an in game libel suite would have been much more of a productive (and hopefully more enjoyable) course of action. However, given your current reaction that would no longer be a course of action I’d be willing to be part of.

d. In regards to your accusations of “immature” behavior, I will simply let the way I conduct myself both IC and OOC speak for itself and let your behavior do the same.]

I do know well what my char said and what he did - so I dont feel like I have to justify anything, as there was no lie Velh spread neither any inappropriate or unfair behaviour..

That was only about Guv and I only blame him... I had barely contact with you ingame.

[With all do respect, I am not attempting to RP an Octarch, just the editor of a newspaper that apparently wrote something in one article in one of it's editions you don't like. Fortunately there are many other people that are capable of recognizing the difference between IC and OOC so, plenty of other people and characters in PS to RP with.

While I do not see the character of Guv (or his Yellow Journal) going away anytime soon, if you're desire was to completely remove yourself, and The Herald as a whole, from what could have been some really cool RP, then wish granted. As far as I'm concerned, and Guv IC, The Yellow Journal has more important things to spend their time on then The Yliakum Herald or it's petty editor.

By the way, checking to make sure something was factual from a real life conversation is not an admission of anything, just good practice... you may want to remember that next time before you post something as fact.]

I have a feeling I stepped in between two fronts.
First for me to say is sorry, I guess my maybe harsh sounding words may have come as surprising as yours to me at first. I wasnt meant to imply you would spread lies, as I neither have heard of you doing so, nor did you do to me.

But I also would like to mention Guv.
If you read the Yellow paper 2nd edition you will notice that this.. fine and noble paper spread some.. let me call it very doubtful truth about Noriin and Velh. But well.. when I read that today, I was laughing almost falling off my chair. I just want to say, the first moment I saw Guv, it was obvious that hes a snakey char. And the way he acted should make it obvious to almost any char.
In the end, its just a dirty newspaper, living from exaggerating scandals - and hey, isnt it nice? Here where I live, and most propably in other cities as well, we have those sorts of "newspapers", besides the serious ones. Its up to people who to believe.. of course people believing in yellow press arent considered to be the smartest ones.

I have never badmouthed / libeled anyone.

We made a contest, the winner donated his prize.
The Yellow Newspaper then published a whole article that the Herald does suspicious things with their sponsors and the contest prizes and on how bad the Herald is and to boycott it.
I didn publish anything about the Yellow Newspaper to not cause trouble.
