Octarchal Auction
« on: September 08, 2007, 06:20:07 pm »
A ruddy dwarven town crier makes his way into the plaza of Hydlaa. He stands up high in the fountain of Laanx. He unrolls a scroll with the Octarchal seal of Amidison Stronghand printed clearly on the back. He clears his throat loudly before begining,

"Hear ye! Hear ye! Due to the impending threat of a Crystal Eclipse the Octarchy has decided to sell off some of its assets to be able to provide for the peasants during uncertain times which always correspond the coming of darkness. All bidders or onlookers shall gather at the upper landing ONLY during the time of the auction itself. the auctioneer will be none other than the esteemed Merchyrryr Stronghand, heir apparent to Vigesimi Stronghand. The event will be held at the appointed hour. . . [09 September, 16:00 GMT]. You will see the Auctioneer on the balcony opposite the two buildings to be sold."

[Due to server constraints it is requested that everyone get in place and be seated for the entirety of the event.]

In the shadows of an alley across the plaza, a figure rises from the gobble-like crouch he had been in for what seemed like days. His eyes had never left the Statue of his beloved Laanx, nor the Temple behind it, even though the wall had blocked his view the entire time. He hops up on the barrel next to him, curling his bare toes over the edge to ensure his grip, and watches as the insignificant dwarf finishes his cry and wanders away. Did the fool even bow homage to his Lord Laanx, and the statue that embodied all of the greatness of His power? The figure sneers, drawing the skin back from his hollowed eyes in a skull-like visage. No, not even in the slightest. Not one of the hundreds he had seen passing the statue gave it more than a passing glance, when the very shadow of it should have them bowing and groveling at its stone feet. They will  learn. The figure looks up at the Crystal. Oh yes…soon they will -all- learn.

The figure leaps back off the barrel, wincing at the pain of movement. So, the shepherd calls to the sheep [or PS sheep equivalent]. The figure starts rubbing ointments on his face, numbing just the right muscles to provide a better disguise than any mask. If it was the sheep they called, then a sheep he would be.

Aerium turns around and walks away from the sound of fire to listen to the loud voice bawling out its message, upon hearing of the news he decides that he shall go and watch the auction when it occurs. Taking a few minuites to make sure the speaker had finished he starts his long walk towards Ojaveda. As he passes the statue he turns to glance at the crowd, his eyes sweeping past the myriad of different faces. Suspecting thieves he clutches his blue stoned ring tight in his hand.

Duraza thinks to himself for a bit after hearing the words said by the dwarf. "The crystal eclipse.....this changes everything....If only I had known sooner..Possibly, just maybe I can achieve my goals before time is too late....The coming darkness..Yes. Soon it will be time."

[Sooo funny. An auction calls forward more nuts(no offense to you Mooney or Duraza. You know we all love you guys.) and badies then the events that are meant for the badies.]

Entevir glances at the dwarf uninterestingly and abserves as he reads out of the scrool marked with the ochtarchs seal.Slowly he walks away without saying anything. He also weighs his tria purse for something.
If I stand on the axis of the world will you mind if I say that the world revolves around me ?

The crowd has spread and the plaza on the empore already has forgotten all the bustle and excitement that filled the air just a short while ago. The auction that could have brought a tremendous change to the Lair ended. A group of kin, a family, is standing in front of their old and new house, looking proud at each other.
A paper goes around, showing everyone whom they owe their thanks for this great success.

The paper contains a list of names. They read:

Arka
Donari
Eliere
Irri
Kemedes
Maanahr
Morila
Proglin
Quart
Rokun (on behalf of Hokinon)
Secagy
Talcon
Vexonee
Vinafera
Xillix
Yanlora

[And of course thanks to everyone we've forgotten here and to those who spoke out their support for us.
It was a nice event without much OOC interference.
A great thanks to the devs and GMs as well for making this possible.]
