[Guild] Warriors Organisation
« on: September 10, 2007, 06:02:51 pm »
Sodedar stands in front of a line of gathered recruits. While pleased with the ammount of new people they had lately it will take some time to train these to be capable of handling themselves. Watching them stand in attention he begins to speak:

''As any community is formed, the people in it will neccesarily learn that there are certain skills and roles that need to be done in order to ensure its survival. Of course the base of each group will be skilled craftsmen, capable of supplying material needs of the community. But eventually situations will come up when the group might be endangered.''

The menki stops for a while, taking a deep breath and waiting in a few seconds of silence. Then he continues.

''That is when we, the warriors and guardsmen come in. We are the proud guardians of the organisation. We are here to provide individuals with skill, honor and dedication to make sure the rest of our brothers and sisters are kept safe. The first and last line of defense and as that we must not fail in our task.''

With this, Sodedar ends his short speech, briefly examining each of the recruits.

''So... any questions?''

Goal

The main goal of the Warrior's organisation is to provide the Organisation with skilled and hardy fighters, knights, enforcers and soldiers. This is done by recruiting and training members to be capable of handling themselves in a fight, but also how to correctly present themselves and behave in a community as to represent the organisation in a positive way.

Requirements

Should one wish to join the warriors the same rules as when joining any division apply: you are not forced to any moral philosophy nor have any specific character requirements. Additionaly of course, if you are to advance in this division you will need the skills of a warrior, as well as the ability to behave in public, trust your comrades and obey any orders you get from your superiors. Also, while it is not a requirement, most of our members are generally friendly, polite, helpful and somewhat honorable individuals, so should you look for a guild of similiarly spirited people, we might be your choice.

Ranking

Note: These arent the actual descriptions of the ranks, but my own based on how things have worked so far. The specific stats and requirements for each rank (along with the official descriptions) are posted on the division's site and some might still change. Therefore posting only basic descriptions of what each rank does. Also additionaly combat skill refers to weapon and armor skill and physical stats only. This doesn't mean we're against magic though, just it won't bring you rank benefit if you train it.

Messenger The recruits. This rank given to memberss who need to be taught the very basics, or were not assigned any other starting rank yet. Also people with no or minimal skill in combat start here.

Fighters attendant Those of the recruits that have some combat training and have understood the basics of behaving in public as well as how to defend themselves in a fight.

Fighter Once a member proves he is capable of handling himself and knowing how to train his skills effectively, he is named a fighter. More advanced combat skills as well as some physical attributes, are the main requirements for reaching this rank.

Squire attendant Additionaly to honing ones combat skills and physical attributes, a squire attendant also needs to know how to make basic repairs on his equipment. As well as be able to behave quite well in public at this point and find his own place, by being able to write his own description. This is the highest rank that can be awarded to a newly recruited member.

Squire While even more advanced skill in offense, defense and equipment repair is needed, a squire attendant, in order to be promoted needs to ask a knight to be accepted as his squire. When promoted to squire and every rank here after gets to have a short promotional ceremony, that will announce their change of rank to all present guild members. Squires additionaly study leadership skills and help train and advise lower ranked members.

Knight The knight is an experienced fighter and leader. They handle training lower ranks and mentor their squires in the ways of the guild. Are allowed to help out lords in handling daily matters of the guild and may promote the lower ranks. For one to become a knight they will have to have gained some trust from the guild and have had shown some effort in aiding it. Experience on quests is now also needed, therefore knights need to have winch access the 'fair' way.

Lord A highly experienced and skilled knight might eventually be named lord. Lords are expected to handle all daily matters of the guild, including recruitment, training, advice, promotions and promotional speeches. Lords are not promoted automatically, but instead a knight needs his request approved by the guild leadership. Only a known, reliable and loyal person may reach this rank. There can only be 10 lords at most.

Duke Dukes are those members that have shown exceptional skills in all areas of their training. They have top rank in the guild and only handle the important affairs at this point. They also start to play part not only in the politics of the division, but also of the whole organisation. Since being duke is high responsibility, maximum loyalty and devotion is needed. The individual must have had proven his skill and loyalty through many services. There can only be 5 dukes at most.

Organisator The person responsible for organising the division and its administration. Officialy has the same standing as a duke, though commands the most respect.

Recruitment

You will need to either speak with someone ranked Lord or above, or ask a member of the division to forward your request to them. There's almost always someone around from our division so it should not be a problem.

Note: If you are already a member of another division of the organisation and wish to transfer to this one or another, pass the request to your leadership.

EDIT: updated the information regarding the Squire, Knight, Lord and Duke ranks to fit the last changes on the ranking system
