no account found with that name

Hi,

First, here's my issue.  At the game login screen, I enter my email and password, but I get a response of "no account found for that name".

I registered about an hour and 1/2 ago.  I got my confirmation email and replied to it, and I can login to the forums.  I tried reconfirming, but it says I've already confirmed.
There don't seem to be any network problems because I was able to run the updater successfully and the server is showing numbers next to it.

So does it take a certain amount of time for the registration to kick in before I can login to the game and start playing?  Or might something else be going on here?

I'm running the 32-bit Linux version in Ubuntu Feisty.  I did have to run the library fix script before I could get to the login screen.

Have you registered here, or just for the forums? Accounts are not shared between them (though, who knows, perhaps in the future they could be).

Thanks.  That worked.  geez, I feel silly.  Although, maybe it should be made a bit clearer.  The forum site is pretty well integrated to the main site.

Personally, I would like the forums to use the game server db for logins, but because of the way the servers are set up now that's not possible (or easy, anyway). http://www.planeshift.it/download.html does have a registration link for the Laanx server page, though. Glad that that solved your problem :]

Well, I did register (here), and have yet to get a confirmation e-mail for the CLIENT. I began this process more than 2 days ago. Obviously, I did get one for the forums. I'm assuming if the e-mail address worked for that, the issue is not the provider, or the address itself. I just get stuck in an endless loop trying to have the confirmation resent, with it telling me that the account already exists.  If I try to log into the game using the password for the forums, it errors out with an incorrect password message.

This looks like a cool concept worthy of checking out, but I have to tell you I'm loosing patience. There are login problems and the window to do that in has taken up residence in the upper left corner of my screen (obscuring part of itself) and will not let me move it. I'm coming to the conclusion that it might be better to wait until you have worked out the bugs before I do check it out.

iam having a similiar problem. i have created an account, for the game, but in game login wont accept my password. the password that i use is the one sent with verifaction email. thought that i to just had a forums account, but when i try to create a new account it says email already used. so whats up?

try this http://laanx.fragnetics.com/register/resendemail.php?forgot=yes and maybe it did not like the browser you used. I had that problem before FireFox worked fine for me.
