I\'ve played it and, no thank you. I\'d like to stick to the worlds where you wont see too many people steal your best grinding/questing places. It just gets filled real quick in WoW and you lose the feeling of being in another world and not a game:(

Rubies of Eventide is still a small world but it isn\'t overpopulated. You can help the developers by becoming gentry\'s. A one time fee and unlimited server acces for an entire year. If you want to keep playing without not being able to log into the server you pay 50 bucks every year[or was it half year...]

The game is, as we speak, going through a restructuring process, and after that a patch for better gamplaying will be released. The comig patch after that will unock new features, awesome equipment and skills.

Actually, I created on Fire Opal.  Sorry, but I pretty much play on RP servers exclusively. Although it probably doesn\'t matter with Eventide heh. Still trying to get used to the control, since it seems the mouselook button toggle doesn\'t work on the keyboard, and I don\'t like having to hold down my middle mouse button hehe. *messes with the keyboard layout some more*

Here are my recommandations (they\'re all empire-building games played on your bowser with little graphics):

http://games.swirve.com/utopia/
It\'s the most complex browser-based game I\'ve ever played. It has roleplaying but their forum code sucks.

http://www.nationstates.net
You build a nation and improve it with issues which come up twice per day. It has a very old (at least 5 years) and very active RP-ing community, but if you\'re not into RP-ing you\'re going to get bored because the issues repeat themselves after a while (they are 196 issues in total).

http://www.nationstates2.net/
It\'s not finished yet; you can read about it in here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1228
This is supposed to be the greatest nation-building game but some people think this will never get done.

http://www.cybernations.net/default.asp
This was made by a completely independent guy named Kevin Marks. This 3 months old game is much more simplistic than Utopia but has a great RP-ing community and many options like war and trade that NS doesn\'t have. Many players from Nation States have moved to this game criticising the evil mods from NS which ruined the whole RP-ing thing which was NS\'s strongest point.

Personally, I prefer CyberNations just because of its great RP-ing community and relatively good gameplay, but you all have different preferences than me.

Edit: If anyone wants to know more about CyberNations just ask me cause I know a lot about it.

Odd thing...
Have you tried using a different internet browser for registering? I used Opera when I registered to Silkroad a few months ago and didn\'t have any problems back then.
Some pages just seem to work better with other browsers, don\'t know why since I\'m no tech wiz :/

I'd like to mention SecondLife again (somebody mentioned it in this thread a ways back)... the client (for windows, mac AND linux) has been open-sourced and the world is growing hugely...  it is free to play.  You can do anything there and there is SO MUCH to explore.  You pay only if you want to own land or run a business or purchase currency.  With it's own economy, combat system, 3D building tool, etc.. I see it as a perfect role-players paradise.  Everybody that enjoys planeshift should check out secondlife.com.  Come to think of it, with a bit of effort and money, planeshift in it's entirety could be replicated in secondlife!

Except that's a big no-no :P
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Well, I didn't mean someone should actually go and copy the graphics and maps of planeshift... I just meant that it would be possible because the users have the power to create anything in secondlife.

Also, if anybody reading this does try it out, and would like to give me referal credit, use the following link when you create your account...

Lets see... The first MMO I'd  ever played was T4C

www.t4c.eacceleration.com

Chaos server is the free one, but half the population is french. (last time I was on, which was in 2004)

The graphics are Mediocre. They are really artsy and un-realistic. The music is great and the story is alright. The gameplay mechanics are simple, yet annoying because of their simpleness. Its made by Eaccleeration and I highly reccomend deleting the Eacceleration toolbar stuff once you get it because its really buggy. :sorcerer:

I've had Shadowbane recomended to me before... I think it was Setill?  I don't remember.  Wolfenstein Enemy Territory is just a third person shooter.  I've played it a couple times.  I prefer SOF2, even though Wolfenstein Enemy Territory has a flame thrower.
