What's the easiest way to stay up-to-date on the newest versions of Planeshift without visiting the site everyday?  Is there an RSS feed I can subscribe to?

most of the time if you need to update there will be a message when you connect to the server and there is no RSS feed

Yeah, but that often happens when there is no update aswell

Checking the site daily is the best way to do it.  Or just get used to going on IRC

new releases are generally posted on the forums as well, and you can subscribe to different forum boards here via rss.

Yeah, I don't actually play Planeshift.  I've been tracking it for a long time though, been a member here since 2002.

You won't find an early-alpha MMO project that is nearly as full-featured as Planeshift. Come on in; the water is fine and getting finer.

Well, I've downloaded it 3 times during that time.  It looks good, and I'm impressed with the progress, but yeah, I'm waiting for beta.

don't wait depending on who you talk to it is already in beta and to be honest is far better than some beta software I've used

It's not in beta, it's in early alpha (the first alpha release, by the way; AB and MB release were tech demos).

Beta will be 0.7 and up (IIRC). When software reaches beta it is very close to a finished state and just needs a little tweaking. PS is far from complete and entirely lacks some features.

Release is, of course, 1.0.

What he means is that the water is a bit murky and has a strange smell to it, but we are working on getting a bottle of air freshener.

If the water smells funny, it's only because people keep slaughtering stuff down in the sewers and forgetting to clean up their mess. Honestly, how many dead bodies must be piled up on the drains down there, I can't even begin to guess... @.@;
