Help!!!!!!!!!! please :D

I have a pc with AthlonXP 1800 (1500MHz), 1.25GB de RAM y Geforce 4 (64MB), and i can't play, is too slow, even with all the characteristic in the minimun level, i do not know why, because the minimun requeriments (A PIII 600Mhz with 512Mb of RAM and a Geforce 2 card  or PIII 1ghz with 512 RAM and a GeForce3) are less than my pc.
Some one could tell me if i have to buy a new Video Card or if is a problem with the game?

I play on both WinXP and Linux with a PIII 750MHz and 512Mb Ram Geforce 440MX (64Mb), so you should be able to run Planeshift as well if not better than me.

First check that your Nvidia Drivers are up to date http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Thanks, i did what you say althought i already did it before, but still works awfull i can not move well.

You mean to say that it runs really slowly? I'm quite sure it's because your graphics driver is one of those that is poor with OpenGL -- mine isn't so great with OpenGL 3D either.

At any rate, 64 MB graphics cards are pretty weak. It's good to at least have 128 MB graphics cards, but any new computer you can buy will come with at least a 256 MB card now.

you can try setting the options in the PSSetup.exe program back some and that should make it run better, but it will also make it look not as nice.

Setting the max distance in options will also help a lot, but you will have to reset it every relog due to a bug for now.

I have tried setting poor graphics it looks more than awfull, but still works bad, i will try with the distance, thanks.

i've run this game on a 64mb geforce 3 just fine so something must be wrong with your system, maybe you have some programs that slow down the system or viruses or even spyware

just a question does the game look "flat" like there's 1 or a few colors only on your character or does it look like it should, just wondering if it's maybe running in software mode that would explain extreme slowness but i doubt it's that.

by the way, maybe all you need is some new motherboard drivers and graphic card drivers

I agree with Elvicat. I had it running with a 64mb GeForce3 also, and without any flaws (1000x750)

What OS do you have? Windows, Linux?

Dzyan what speed internet connection are you on?
if you are only on a dial up then you will experience lag to the max and that would affect your graphical performance.

My system is XP and i have ADSL conecction of 1Mbps.
Anyway the problem is already solved in the most extrange way  , instead of reducing the graphic configuration i set it up, with 32 bits, and it runs great, when i use 16 runs awfull, i do not know why
