He was walking along the road to Oja, least he thought he was,it was more a stumble. He didn't care really. His head was causing the world to spin and a recent cut on his hand was just too much to bear, there was something in it still.. a shard.

The more he tried to remove it, the deeper it got. He swore.

His luck was down, not only had he spent the last of his tria on dwarvern ale, he'd been nearly caught stealing it in the first place. It was all because he'd cut the belt, not the moneybelt thong... mind you, the fact that the victims trousers fell about his feet was a bonus in the get away..

His head now thumped... It pounded as his blood battled the alcohol that jostled for slipstream to the brain.

The scrawny, emaciated figure of a Ynwan sat finally. The kind of sitting that only drunk people can; his bottom was flung at the ground and despite the ground being very large, and his backside small, he still missed.

He looked at the sky that had suddenly come into view.. it was strangely dark. The sort of darkness that an eclipse would give. Lighting a tinderbox against a lantern he'd acquired from outside Brintec's, He dug a dagger at his hand, squinting in both pain and to see what he was doing. He just had to get it out - it was agony. The dagger touched on the shard, and he was sick; his stomach had only bile to offer up, having previously emptied its liquid lunch of earlier.

"hmaaaaaarrfggg"

As he dropped the dagger and clenched his eyes, a shadow grew, even out of the darkness... and gripped his hand in a blackness that swallowed the light from the latern.. the blood that was seeping out congealed suddenly and he passed out.

IT swam in his mind, for it could not find anthing to adhere to, thoughts washed with pain and drowned in spirit numbing liquors...

In his slumber, the Ynwan choked... death crept up and touched his miserable body, but lept back at what it found.

(HoodedOracle)

Meanwhile...

Lolitra drew the curtains, not wishing to see, or even feel the darkness cut across the City Hydlaa.  She lit a fire that raged defience to the un-Yliakum cold.   Settling down to read a book, love story to be truthful, she smiles to herself.

As cold crept across the cavenous sky, and shadows faded into one sheet of darkness, pricked by solitary street lamps.. and people casting lightspells in the panic that ensued. Lolitra sipped her tea.  Suddenly the fire flared up, sucked up the chimney leaving her in darkness.  She screamed and felt something hot burn her lap.  She'd spilt her drink.

Mel lit a lantern and hurried to the Lounge.  'Ma'am... are you ok?' she said, as calmly as she could, her eyes full of fear as she looked to the darkened curtains.
Her Royal Highness Lolitra Hollinthy Purrty nods regally 'I am delighted to meet you' her tiara twinkles in the crystal light.

[I like it, Ironstark. Haven't seen Shauni lately, though.  :'(]

Anarkia Shadeclaw skillfully descended from the white buildings, landing on a tarp, then making a front flip onto the sand. Stumbling, and almost vomiting, she made her way to Brado's. Perhaps he could help her. . . . She leaned against the counter, speaking with her old boss. He did not seem too happy with what she had been doing recently, and became more inclined to talk with a nearby Clamod menki.

"Oh well." The fenki rubbed the furry arrow on her head as she left. After she had exited the quiet tavern, a revolting smell wafted passed her snout. Sweaty, stinky, very unpleasant. She spun on her hindpaws and saw a rat; no, it was a trepor; no, it was a tefusang; no, it was a marfusang. A great, ugly marfusang. And an ulbernaut. 'AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,' she thought, her mouth unmoving. 'AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH. AAAAAAHHH! AAAH! AAAAAAHHHHH!' Both creatures had come out of nowhere, between Trasok's and the gate to the Ojaveda road.

Immediately she began running for the blacksmith, but then two other monsters appeared, though she was not sure what they were in the confusion. Two fighters pounced on them. Anarkia noticed a consumer in the distance. "I have to get out of here," she muttered to herself, not wanting to risk anything. Then someone said something . . . congratulated their son. Who knows, it was not important.

Rotating around, she saw that the marfusang and ulbernaut had run off to somewhere, or had been killed. Which ever it was of the two, she did not bother to find out, and took her chance. She sprinted toward the gate, went through, got out, and saw a few people going about their daily business. "Get out! Run!" Most heard her, luckily, as she zipped by on the road.

The farther the fenki got, the darker it became. This caught her attention, but in panic, she continued. Something compelled her to reach Hydlaa, as it was where she lived. It was where her friends were. Passing a black lake, she almost tripped over a sleeping figure as it awoke, but Anarkia did not pay much heed to that now. She could say sorry later, though she was not sure who it was, or if they even realized she had almost squashed them. Anyway, the path was almost invisible. The dark fog blocked all view. Now she was travelling by senses, by smell.

'Eclipse.' The word hit her brain hard, and she knew what was happening. 'I thought . . . Oh no.' Suddenly a sick agony shot through Anarkia's body, and she collapsed, spilling bile at the same moment. Rolling over, looking into the hopeless sky, she began to cry. Not really because of what was happening, the Eclipse, but her personal troubles. Why did she do such things? And then she drifted into unconsciousness. . . .
