Hello, Newby with questions :)
« on: October 13, 2007, 01:04:14 pm »
So I've been reading around the page, and a bit of the forums, and am so far liking what I've seen of the game.
However, there's one problem I always find with games is that I always manage to choose the side which has both the most and best players. So, what I wanted to know is:
Are there any races which are underused??
Are there any alignments which seem overbearing in roleplaying??

Choosing races doesn't allocate you to a "side" as such, but there are no underused races. There are also no fixed alignments, you progress as your charcater as an individual would progress.
Confusion is always the most honest response

Thank you, and by the Alignment question I meant are more players leaning towards a good or evil style of play.

This game can be fully immersive - you can create and mold your character's history about that of the setting, get in game, role play and develop your character, leading him to a set goal, or allowing circumstance and RP to develop your goal for you...

Or if you are just into levelling - you could just do all the quests, fight and learn... and level. [which to me is quite boring really]

but the first is really fun, and you can level at the same time.. yahoo...

any ways - welcome to PlaneShift - the most important thing is to have good clean fun.

This is something what doesnt need to bother you too much in Planeshift.
There is no war between any races in world Yliakum. Otherwise. Any racism is forbindem by laws.  :)
So.. choose the race you like most and with which you will have most fun, I would say. (Major races.. hm.. Lemurs are ones I don't see too often.)

And religion: Pretty the similar. All from three (2 more coming) doesnt have any open conflict (just some expemptions) in game and no of this sides can be considered as Good or Evil. :)  Its only matter of individuality.
(Laanx's and Talad's religions are somehow balanced, Black Flame is more hidden)

I think the general consensus would be that playing nefarious characters is more difficult and less supported currently. Most people are generally friendly and helpful but there are also plenty with no time for others. The big problem with the evil-doers is that their actions can be taken as harassment or "griefing" when they are merely trying to be bad in character. I personally have not had much problem with anyone and I am not knocking the evil-doers. I am just saying where some of trouble comes from for playing that type. If you look around the boards you will see what I mean.
