Anyone out there ever wondered how planeshift figures out names?

Ummm... What are you talking about?
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

I think it uses the global disaster stomper.  That utilizes several anachronistic algorithms in conjunction with FEMA  and the Fibonacci sequence in order to generate massive quantities of perfectly RP oriented names such as Olaf Goblinslayer or Talad Priest.  Its a really complicated piece of software that only runs on computers with at least a 16 cubit quantum processor.

And here I was thinking they just had a pet monkey trained to type series of letters on someone's old PC.

That was the old system before the new GDS branch in svn went live.

Now that I think about it, I think the new program OwLad is using the same backend.  Its really shaping up to be a nice replacement for PhotoShop and 3dsMax as an all in one tool.

OwLad is a very useful application if you're making some color adjustments and suddenly forget what day it is just before being hit by an overwhelming need to browse your file system.  It is also highly recommended by 9 out of 10 people with Attention Deficit Disorder.   ;D

It would have been 10 out of 10 but one guy got distracted...  :whistling:
