Good mining Place

I wandered out of town trying to find a mining place and am lost.  I went through a door with guards on either side.  I am on the top level i think.  Can someone help me get to a good minning area?

There is a mining area in the city. To mined outside of the city, look for an area where there are alot of people mining around big rocks.

You mean the city with the plaza and the big red temple?

Yes, here's a hint, deeper than the sewers. If you see me around just ask and I will guide you, but only iron silver and coal in ore, and rubies, emeralds and diamond in gems are available without leaving the City, so if you are after Gold you need to put your running shoes on.
