By system specs I mean information like graphics card (ATI X1600, GMA 950, etc ...), cpu type (Intel Dual Core, G5, G4, etc, ...), computer type (Macbook, iMac, etc ...). This is the kind of information which makes it possible to narrow down a problem to be either a software bug or hardware-specific.

Specs posted to the system specs Thread. PS has run fine before the 10.5 Update, So i guess it's related to Leopard.

Hey, that's cool. 

The GUI Elements are still a bit messed up, but  the game window is clear. Good enough to play.

one more thing
open the file Planeshift3D/data/config/r3dopengl.cfg, find the line [use any text editor]

Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_texture_compression = false
and add the semi-colon, so that it looks like so:

Save the file and start up Planeshift.

had this one already. Was in one of the early Performance Tips.
So it does not Fix the broken GUI. But, as i said. It works good enough to keep playing. As far as i know, there is already a Bugreport about the Leopard Issues, so maybe this will be fixed sometimes later.

well that bug report is on an intel machine not ppc like you have. but given time we will try to work out all the bugs in leopard.

and if you read what i said again it is the reverse of what is in that guide, worth trying if you have not.

to enable Texture compression by going back to the default value by commenting out the line that diables the Compression.

looks to me exactly like what you wrote :

so, do you suggest to turn compressionon or off?

enable it so i guess you did that already. Give us a few weeks and we will work on some of these leopard bugs.

I'm running on a PowerMac G5 with Leopard. Adding the two lines to the cfg-file, Trymm mentioned in the post about the 1600 graphiccard (even I don't have such a card) makes PS look normal, but it freezes after a little while, unless you keep standing on the same spot.

My specs are listed on the thread, but here they are. PowerMac G5 2x1,8 Ghz, 3Mb RAM, ATI Radeo 9600XT 256MB graphic. MacOSX 10.5 Leopard.
