Race specific huds?

What about race specific huds, imo it would add to the atmoshaer. Meaning to have a hud styled in a look like your classes race.

I was thinking of that last night, but the boards were down...bah, you beat me to it.  Like if my HUD(I\'m a Dermorian) was all green and leafy, or even just had a dermorian instead of an androgynous wingless klyros...

from what little I know of programming, that does not sound like it would be a hard thing to do.  The hardest part would just be getting the artwork done.

In my opinion I think that would make the screen area a bit too cluttered with the main chat box and everything and the existing interface.  Maybe you can just use the main chat box already present, but with specific channels for races. (I think they already have channels for guilds and such).  They could just have like /race and have different colour codes depending on what channel is being used.

Aehm, ok actually I was aiming for the LOOK of your hud, it would be cool if every race has an own hud STYLE representing their \"style\" not different chat channels for races.

maybe the huds could be smaller, or resizable at least, or just have a long rectangular chat box at the bottom of the screen with certain styles.  That would be cool.  :D  8)

I\'m absolutely in favor of race-specific HUD\'s. It was one of the things that made starcraft great. If it isn\'t that hard to program and implement as Ravenmaster said, than it is something that could add some nice detail to the game. But that it is. Only a detail (which would add much to the game. Aaah, can you call this a detail or not ?)

Anyway, it is not something we need right now. First we need a game, then we can customize our HUD\'s... Anyone who can help in creating some artwork for these things ? Again, specific input can help devs out a lot... So, if you have a talent, use it, and use it now for the sake of race-specific HUD\'s in PS... ^_^

neat idea ...if it was implemented in the client itself it would cause no \"lag\" at all ;) ...eyecandy is always nice (well... most of the time)

Huh, uhm hook, sorry to bother you again with my ant brain questions, but what do you mean be implementing in the client and all that stuff and lag ? sorry, probably a stupid question, but the only thing i know about computers is how to switch the things on and off ^_^

Customizable HUDs should not be too big of a problem.  Most of the windows will have a \'definition\' file that describes how it is layed out.  So by changing those files you can change the way the window looks.  We will see later in the future if people can design and trade new window designs.
