Quest help
« on: November 22, 2007, 09:31:56 pm »
OK, I feel like I'm missing something here.  Doing "Kilas wants his abacus back" quest -- I will refer to Kilas's comrade as "Target."

I've tried answering Target's question a number of different ways.  His question seems very straightforward and seems to want a very specific answer, but nothing I've tried gives a positive response.  I've read and re-read both Kilas's and Target's words numerous times and spent almost a half hour trying to answer Target's question.  What am I doing wrong?

not all quests are easy and some take a lot of thought. Also we dont give quest solutions on the forum so there is not much help to be gotten here.

That's just it -- this particular problem doesn't seem to need a lot of thought.  I've already completed some fairly complex quests where I did have to think; I have no problem with that.  :D

Target's question doesn't leave any room for interpretation, so I'm completely confused.  And I know I'm not going to get an answer on the forum, but even a tiny nudge in the right direction would help.

He's waiting for a number, isn't he? So just count upwards until you got it. :whistling:

After half an hour, I had counted up pretty high.  Way higher than what seemed to be the reasonable answer.  But I guess I'll just keep plugging, meh....

I had some problems with this too. Not sure if this was changed, but the way the "target" asks could be easily missinterpreted (I would even say he explains it wrong). But counting up should work...

If you're having trouble, asking the quest giver about the item in question does give a hint.

And yes, in this particular quest, the most obvious answer is NOT the correct one with good reason.

Hehe, I had some trouble with this one too because I didn't listen close enough to what Kilas had to say about how abacuses work.
We're not evil. We're simply amazing.
