London 2012 Olympics logo - HORRIBLE

My husband pointed this out to me just now as he stopped by my work. This is the worst logo I have ever seen! Good god couldn't they come up with anything better? Some say it looks like a person giving another person ... well you know. Anyway what do you guys think? I voted on the site that I didn't like it.

Seriously, to me the number 2012 is too obvious, yet I do know what you may see, the more as its decorated with many other examples of the same category.

I don't get it.  I see squiggly lines and a blob with the real Olympic rings in it.

I know even my six year old daughter could come up with a better design! I can't believe they have even considered making this the logo. This is the Olympics, not the kids arts and crafts fair.

  I hope that truly isn't going to be the logo, or I will so be disappointed.

All I can say about the logos on that site is "What were some of them thinking??!!"  I have no idea what that Chinese one is supposed to be, but based on the look of that logo, I don't want to know.   

I can almost kinda sorta kinda see a something similar with that Olympic logo, but nowhere near as blatantly ... *ahem* ... blatant as some of the other logos.  Regardless, it is pretty bad.  It doesn't seem 'trendy' or 'elegant' to me.  I can just imagine the designers of that logo laughing all the way to the bank over something that looks like it took 15 minutes to make.  I've seen better works created with MS Paint on this forum.  Hey Zorbels, maybe you should let your daughter take a crack at making an Olympic logo.  I'm sure it would better than the 'real' one.  In fact, I know there are probably dozens of artists in this community that could make something much better.  New community artwork contest, anyone?

BTW Canadians aren't all about curling, after all hockey was founded in this country. (I can't believe I know this stuff. I am not even a sports fan.)

Seriously, "contest to make a better olympic logo." We can send them in, one might get used if we are lucky and enough people have good taste to hate the current logo
