Library Books
« on: December 16, 2007, 10:47:48 pm »
I would like to get your opinion on an idea I am working on.

I would like to see a permanent library book section on the players and their histories. There are many people with interesting in game stories to tell may it be about themselves or maybe a role play event that they remembered. Maybe this is a way to keep the history of PS alive in game. If you are interested maybe you would like to tell me a story and I can write down as examples to give to the settings team and see if we can make this happen. Imagine someone walking up to you and saying, "I read that book in the library about you, tell me more."  It could lead to interesting role plays. If I get enough encouragement then this idea just might work. Any thoughts would be appreciated but stay on topic please because I hope the settings team will take interest and allow this to happen.

Would you like to see permanent books in the library about our very own characters so that others can read about it?

Neko,

Are these stories written in the forums here or in game? I am referring to books in the game not here.

I like this, especially for the characters who are more well known, like in real life with biographies and such. Maybe you could also have stuff written about past players who have left too; I would be interested in that.

As long as each story is run by settings for approval, I think it's a good idea.
"Here's to lowering caskets of old friends choice and consequence we'll birth a new day with the death of an old and start over, start over.  Here's to burying hatchets in those who you'd never call your friend...we'll birth a new day with the death of an old day and start over, start over!"

This has been suggest a couple times before.

Personally I'm still waiting for the time that we players can contribute our own books to NPC run libraries. I know quite a few books that are already in-game which would definitely be worth reading.
Zan Drithor, Member of the Vaalnor Council
Tyrnal Relhorn, Captain of the Vaalguard
Thromdir Shoake, Merchant
Giorn Kleaver, Miner.

Me as well. I just finally starting making some books of my own and I would love to put them in one of the libraries  ;D
Saggi Lezeheso, The Whisper's Jest
Demoik and Rioqura, The Immortal Harrow
Vertum, Will of Dakkru

Duraza Darkom, Slayer of Kittens

I'd run my book past the settings people but I would have to rewrite it or else show it to them in game. Perhaps one of you has seen it... not many have though.
