Duraza's Greatest Trick
Part One: The Death Realm DuelVormorto walks into the tavern, glancing around and spotting Farren standing near the wall. He stands for a while bored till his ears pick up on a few words mentioned by a menki named Hekem. "She will lead you to one called Dertarrwo who will enslave you through magic," says the menki. Farren turns his attention to Hekem as well, along with another fenki in the tavern named Lirreka and a ynnwn named Cruran.
"I've been away from the city for not so long and already someone has tried to do the same thing I did. I'm sure his enslaving is as weak as his name sounds though," Vormorto says, his eyes on Hekem. The menki however leaves the tavern, Farren speaking after he left.
"Duraza tell me, where you angry when I managed to break your hold on me?" Cruran raises an eyebrow, his eyes settling on Vormorto uttering one word, confusion in his voice, "Duraza...?"
"Not at all. Besides, enslaving is an art of my past. The Hand of Darkness is a technique I am no longer able to use. Else I would have already," Vormorto says in response. "Still would be so enjoyable to try again.."
Silavur walks into the tavern at that moment, Lirreka seeming to be the only one to notice him as the talking continues. "It wouldn't work on me a second time Duraza," Farren says. "My defense is too strong." At the mention of Duraza's name Silavur too raises a brow, curious as to what’s going on.
Duraza grins slightly, "Maybe a challenge would be welcome. However if you want to fight me then let us fight in an area I find suitable? After all tavern fights are for the drunken, fights within a guarded city for the mad." Farren nods as Vormorto glances at Silavur and Cruran, "Your welcome to come and help him fight. Alone he most likely will be less than interesting."
"Seems to me it's Farren's fight," says Silavur, Cruran adding it, "It seems even blind he can handle himself."
"Only thanks to Unar," Farren says, Vormorto blinking at the mention of the name, "Ah. The first person I ever enslaved in this city. I remember her." "Fine then, lets settle this," Farren says, "Me and Duraza will fight. No other shall join the battle under any circumstances. Duraza do you agree that if you win you will not harm observers?" Vormorto nods, creating a dark portal within the tavern, "This shall take us to where we need to go."
And so Farren, Vormorto, Cruran, Silavur, and Lirreka enter the portal, leading to the Realm of Death. They follow Vormorto as he leads them through the realm, past the guardian, library, and across the bone like bridge to the second bridge, this one with two chains on either side, both connecting to odd dark doorways.Cruran, Silavur, and Lirreka climb up the chains in order to watch the battle without being in the middle of it, watching as the two warriors prepare.
Vormorto spreads out his legs, exhaling a deep breath, his aura starting to become visible, thick dark energy spiraling around him, fists tensing and eyes focused on Farren "Today we will battle for the last time Kutter. Let us see who will win."
Farren unties his cloak and drops it into the abyss, beginning to shimmer brightly, the light coming off him ice blue, and unsheathes his blades.
"Shall we begin," Vormorto asks, Farren nodding and still shimmering. Vormorto takes in a deep breath, filling his chest all the way with air before releasing, a huge bolt of black lightning rushing at Farren wildly, the force pushing Vormorto backwards in the process. Farren quickly sidesteps it and twists in a spin to bring himself closer to Vormorto, his blades held in a defensive position. Vormorto takes in another deep breath, filling his chest to the limit before releasing a sea of black flames, slightly burning his mouth in the process, Farren increasing the strength of his blue aura to dissipate the flames as they hit him.
Cruran, while the fight pursues, mutters something in order to shield he Silavur, and Lirreka from taking damage.
Vormorto spreads out his hands, shadows covering them. He reaches for Farren with his right arm, a great dark hand being launched at him. Farren twists slightly to the side, his aura spreading to his blades to slash down through the hand. Vormorto keeps the darkness covering his left arm, grabbing his staff, ripping the black bandages off it to reveal its metal rod and the dark crystal shard at the top. Farren decides it is a good time and quickly removes his blindfold to show two perfectly formed eyes, also glowing in the darkness with the same icy blue as the aura, though of course it is also the natural color of his eyes.
"Ready to stop with your games," Farren says, staring Vormorto down. Vormorto raises his left hand to the sky, darkness covering it "The games have only begun." Then he points his hand at Farren, three shadow arms erupting from it, each aimed at him. At the same time Vormorto creates an illusion for the others to see, within it Farren being hit and knocked off into the abyss. Vormorto sighs, as suddenly the illusion he created fades, Farren's right blade thrusting at him as he blocks with his staff. Farren attacks with his left blade, Vormorto creating a second illusion, this time capturing everyone around them.
Vormorto disappears, the illusion making the Death Realm seem to disappear as well, darkness everywhere. Farren, Silavur, Cruran, and Lirreka stand in the darkness, the rest of the world seeming to be lost in the shadows.Farren shimmers brightly still in the darkness, the brightness growing even more. "More games...." Vormorto's voice seems to come from everywhere a sinister laugh, echoing in the darkness that surrounds everyone, nothing left of the Death Realm in sight "Welcome. Here I shall finish you all."
Silavur immediately starts focusing on trying to escape the illusion, no longer paying attention to the fight at hand. Meanwhile Vormorto starts to materialize, seeming to rise from the ground. Immediately Farren slashes at Vormorto, only to find him disappear, reappearing behind him saying in a mocking tone, "Over here. Try again." Silavur continues to struggle against the illusion, yelling to Farren, "Physical attacks won't work till you can get yourself back to the material world!"
Cruran sends out a flurry of light, attempting to intensify it as Farren once again slashes at Vormorto. Vormorto disappears again, another one of him not showing up, a dark hand suddenly coming from the ground and grapping the light cast by Cruran, diminishing it to nothing, his voice appearing from everywhere again "I believe we agreed on no disturbances."
