Upon resurfacing, Nalkorash fell into a short coma. He took a few heavy breaths upon awakening later, as electricity began to circulate his body again from the Crystal's effect and his powers were weakened. He cursed as he started to walk through Hydlaa, trying to remember where the tavern the Kran spoke of was located. He thought at first that it was Kada-el's, and he walked inside to see a lot of Dwarves gathered around. He sighed and walked back out, searching further for the location that was spoke of. Going back to his place of death, the Gazebo, he saw a fight broken out again, this time between Kieve, Kaerli, Xeonart, Farren, and Rethius. Rethius was a 'friend' of Nalkorash's, that he'd met at the time when Duraza's corpse entered Kada-el's and he drained some of its powers away. He narrowed his eyes and saw Anarkia, who was also standing around in the area observing the fight.

He walked closer and heard Farren tell Xeonart to run. It seemed that Farren was actually fighting for Xeonart now, and was no longer in the Rangers of Yliakum. Nalkorash had not seen Xeonart in some time, and being teamed up with Farren, Nalkorash saw him as more of a threat than before. He didn't know who was fighting who anymore, so Nalkorash attacked Kieve, who severely injured him with a crystal way spell, causing his body to bleed in various places, which were later recovered with demon flesh. Xeonart and Farren could not hold off Rethius and Kaerli and retreated along with Nalkorash, who was playing along pretending to be on their side as he needed to recover and couldn't stand losing a second time.

The three grouped up near Eastern Hydlaa, where Xeonart parted ways and Nalkorash was left with Farren, Anarkia peaking from around the wall at them. Nalkorash took a few heavy breaths as his wounds were recovering, Xeonart telling Farren and him before leaving that they should hide for a while. Farren guided Nalkorash through the sewer ways after his wounds were healed, Nalkorash trying hard not to reach out and kill him. Upon reaching the bottom, Anarkia made herself known, and joined with Farren, standing close beside him as she glanced at Nalkorash confusedly.

Xeonart stands, surrounded by darkness. Slowly he breathes, a few beads of sweat running down his face. He starts to feel heat approaching him as suddenly a large ball of black flame hits him in the chest, knocking him down to the ground.

"You still don't have enough hate," says a voice from the darkness. "Show me your hate! Show me your fury! Only then can you awaken power."

Xeonart slowly grabs his scythe, his robes torn and tattered as suddenly he feels a bolt of electricty run through him, making him fall to his knees, dropping his scythe.

"Your pathetic! Show me your strength, show me power," says the voice again. "Awaken your potential. Show me your hate. Reveal your inner darkness!"

Xeonart tries to stand when suddenly a hand comes from the darkness, raising him up by his neck. "Do you wish for me to help you?" Slowly Xeonart nods, turning his face to the side, muttering lowly, "I need power...I'm tired of losing.." Suddenly another hand reaches out of the darkness, grabbing Xeonarts forehead. Pain rushes through Xeonart's body as he screams madly, his eyes wide open his body tense, his arms shaking. Both hands let go, dropping him on the floor, his body numb. Once again the voice speaks, "Hate. It is the key. Let it consume you and through you it will kill."

Duraza's Greatest Trick

Part One: The Death Realm Duel

Vormorto walks into the tavern, glancing around and spotting Farren standing near the wall. He stands for a while bored till his ears pick up on a few words mentioned by a menki named Hekem. "She will lead you to one called Dertarrwo who will enslave you through magic," says the menki. Farren turns his attention to Hekem as well, along with another fenki in the tavern named Lirreka and a ynnwn named Cruran.

"I've been away from the city for not so long and already someone has tried to do the same thing I did. I'm sure his enslaving is as weak as his name sounds though," Vormorto says, his eyes on Hekem. The menki however leaves the tavern, Farren speaking after he left.

"Duraza tell me, where you angry when I managed to break your hold on me?" Cruran raises an eyebrow, his eyes settling on Vormorto uttering one word, confusion in his voice, "Duraza...?"

"Not at all. Besides, enslaving is an art of my past. The Hand of Darkness is a technique I am no longer able to use. Else I would have already," Vormorto says in response. "Still would be so enjoyable to try again.."

Silavur walks into the tavern at that moment, Lirreka seeming to be the only one to notice him as the talking continues. "It wouldn't work on me a second time Duraza," Farren says. "My defense is too strong." At the mention of Duraza's name Silavur too raises a brow, curious as to what’s going on.

Duraza grins slightly, "Maybe a challenge would be welcome. However if you want to fight me then let us fight in an area I find suitable? After all tavern fights are for the drunken, fights within a guarded city for the mad." Farren nods as Vormorto glances at Silavur and Cruran, "Your welcome to come and help him fight. Alone he most likely will be less than interesting."

"Seems to me it's Farren's fight," says Silavur, Cruran adding it, "It seems even blind he can handle himself."

"Only thanks to Unar," Farren says, Vormorto blinking at the mention of the name, "Ah. The first person I ever enslaved in this city. I remember her." "Fine then, lets settle this," Farren says, "Me and Duraza will fight. No other shall join the battle under any circumstances. Duraza do you agree that if you win you will not harm observers?" Vormorto nods, creating a dark portal within the tavern, "This shall take us to where we need to go."

And so Farren, Vormorto, Cruran, Silavur, and Lirreka enter the portal, leading to the Realm of Death. They follow Vormorto as he leads them through the realm, past the guardian, library, and across the bone like bridge to the second bridge, this one with two chains on either side, both connecting to odd dark doorways.

Cruran, Silavur, and Lirreka climb up the chains in order to watch the battle without being in the middle of it, watching as the two warriors prepare.

Vormorto spreads out his legs, exhaling a deep breath, his aura starting to become visible, thick dark energy spiraling around him, fists tensing and eyes focused on Farren "Today we will battle for the last time Kutter. Let us see who will win."

Farren unties his cloak and drops it into the abyss, beginning to shimmer brightly, the light coming off him ice blue, and unsheathes his blades.

"Shall we begin," Vormorto asks, Farren nodding and still shimmering. Vormorto takes in a deep breath, filling his chest all the way with air before releasing, a huge bolt of black lightning rushing at Farren wildly, the force pushing Vormorto backwards in the process. Farren quickly sidesteps it and twists in a spin to bring himself closer to Vormorto, his blades held in a defensive position. Vormorto takes in another deep breath, filling his chest to the limit before releasing a sea of black flames, slightly burning his mouth in the process, Farren increasing the strength of his blue aura to dissipate the flames as they hit him.

Cruran, while the fight pursues, mutters something in order to shield he Silavur, and Lirreka from taking damage.

Vormorto spreads out his hands, shadows covering them. He reaches for Farren with his right arm, a great dark hand being launched at him. Farren twists slightly to the side, his aura spreading to his blades to slash down through the hand. Vormorto keeps the darkness covering his left arm, grabbing his staff, ripping the black bandages off it to reveal its metal rod and the dark crystal shard at the top. Farren decides it is a good time and quickly removes his blindfold to show two perfectly formed eyes, also glowing in the darkness with the same icy blue as the aura, though of course it is also the natural color of his eyes.

"Ready to stop with your games," Farren says, staring Vormorto down. Vormorto raises his left hand to the sky, darkness covering it "The games have only begun." Then he points his hand at Farren, three shadow arms erupting from it, each aimed at him. At the same time Vormorto creates an illusion for the others to see, within it Farren being hit and knocked off into the abyss. Vormorto sighs, as suddenly the illusion he created fades, Farren's right blade thrusting at him as he blocks with his staff. Farren attacks with his left blade, Vormorto creating a second illusion, this time capturing everyone around them.

Vormorto disappears, the illusion making the Death Realm seem to disappear as well, darkness everywhere. Farren, Silavur, Cruran, and Lirreka stand in the darkness, the rest of the world seeming to be lost in the shadows.

Farren shimmers brightly still in the darkness, the brightness growing even more. "More games...." Vormorto's voice seems to come from everywhere a sinister laugh, echoing in the darkness that surrounds everyone, nothing left of the Death Realm in sight "Welcome. Here I shall finish you all."

Silavur immediately starts focusing on trying to escape the illusion, no longer paying attention to the fight at hand. Meanwhile Vormorto starts to materialize, seeming to rise from the ground. Immediately Farren slashes at Vormorto, only to find him disappear, reappearing behind him saying in a mocking tone, "Over here. Try again." Silavur continues to struggle against the illusion, yelling to Farren, "Physical attacks won't work till you can get yourself back to the material world!"

Cruran sends out a flurry of light, attempting to intensify it as Farren once again slashes at Vormorto. Vormorto disappears again, another one of him not showing up, a dark hand suddenly coming from the ground and grapping the light cast by Cruran, diminishing it to nothing, his voice appearing from everywhere again "I believe we agreed on no disturbances."

Part Two: Truths Hidden in Darkness

Silavur chuckles as his full vision returns to him, "You brought us all into it." He whispers and sends dark energy rushing in towards Vormorto just as he appears behind Farren. The attack hits its mark however having no effect, Vormorto standing as if it never happened. Lirreka tightens her focus around Silavur, impairing his vision with blinding flashes of light, of which he can only see. "Don't...Do not join the battle" Silavur yells out into the light, "He brought us into it! You impair you ability to survive!" Lirreka shakes her head slowly. "This battle was a trap, Silavur, I do not wish to see you fall as well... So remain without hostilities."

"Now," Vormorto says, "Now I will show you the power of Darkom."

"You know, you have a really funny last name," says Farren.

Vormorto's image appears to stand still, his voice once again projecting itself "It comes from two words. My family was thought to be a dark omen to the world it existed in. My family was a family of slaves who joined together, each of their previous lives lost in the abyss. Dark Omen. Darkom." Vormorto's image suddenly  starts to change, horns sprouting from its face, its skin becoming dark and slimy, fingers into claws, teeth into fangs, his small tail growing turning thick and bulky, his back arching, bloodlust in his eyes. This new beast attacks Farren, he increasing the light coming from his body to stop this strange beast. Vormorto moves back, suddenly multiplying himself into three, all circling around Farren. All three attack, Farren suddenly creating three illusions of himself within the darkness. all shimmering to stop the clones.

All the while Silavur manages to return to the physical realm, awakening from the illusion. He leaps down and draws his blades, ready to attack Vormorto.

Inside the illusion Vormorto and his clones all disappear, his hand suddenly pointed at Silavur outside the illusion, a blast of dark energy erupting from it, "Don't be so foolish." Silavur runs his sword out into the energy, seeking to pierce the hand before the spell reaches him, forcing Vormorto to avoid the blades, his concentration breaking and his illusion fading away from all the others. Farren thrusts both his blades at Vormorto just as he dodges, Vormorto using his staff to block, being pushed backwards by the force of the attack. Silavur takes advantage of the situation to throw a sword at Vormorto's neck, Farren thrusting at Vormorto again. Vormorto moves his neck to the side, getting a slight cut on his neck, blocking again as Farren's blades thrust at him but being pushed backwards.

For a moment all three stand still, then Vormorto sends a blast of dark lightning from his staff at Silavur, Farren hurriedly kicking him backwards, not just to save him from the lightning but to stop him from fighting. Silavur falls backwards, steadying himself as to not fall off the ledge, Lirreka helping him as they back away. Farren then launches into a sudden volley of thrusts and slashes at Vormorto, he launching black lightning at the ground to launch himself upward and over Farren.

Lirreka stares at Silavur. "Don't get yourself killed."

Silavur looks back to Lirreka, "You act like this is out of my league"

"It is my fight, as you said," Farren says back.

Lirreka pauses. "Farren, is out of his league here, I told you, this is a trap..."

"Didn't you notice? I hit him before the illusion began...with that slash," Farren says, pointing to the wound at Vormorto's side.

Vormorto chuckles darkly "Don't think a simple wound will be me Mr. Kutter....Or should I refer to you by your proper name?" Farren raises an eyebrow, Cruran busy restoring the barriers on him and Lirreka that disappeared when the illusion was started. "Farren will do nicely," Farren says back to Vormorto.

"After all, Vormorto was such a hard name for you to keep in your head. Perhaps I should just start calling you Mr. Lindar. Oh forgive me, did I say that out loud?"

Farren looks at Vormorto confusion obvious in his voice, "I--What? Lindar? What game are you playing this time Duraza?"

"No game at all. I just thought you would prefer for me to use your proper name," Vormorto says back.

"What do you mean my proper name? Lindar is an elvish word," Farren says, still curious.

"Yes your father was elvish," Vormorto says, a dark smile on his face," Demorian to be exact. The name means bard if I'm correct. Your mother a fenki. Would that be right as well?"

"I've never met my parents," replies Farren, "Not in memory...."

Lirreka chuckles, "Touching...."

Vormorto nods, "Ah that’s right. You were too young then. Still just a child during the earlier days when I was chasing Hasseo, controlled by a demon. I met your parents' fought with them but they got away. Who would have ever known I should have killed you as a baby."

"Your lying. Trying to trick me. Trying to make me falter."

"Am I? Are you so sure? here in the darkness one can find truths hidden from them. You happen to be in the darkest realm. the place most fitting for your darkest truth to be revealed." Farren jets forward suddenly with a right thrust at Vormorto's chest, he ducking and swinging his staff from right to left, trying to hit both of Farren's legs. Farren rolls over the staff, barely coming to his feet near the ledge, stepping forward quickly. Vormorto rises, dark lightning surrounding his staff as he brings it down hard, it seeming almost as if he's trying to cut Farren in two, Farren raising his blades in an 'X' to catch it, his blades shining with an ice blue aura.

Vormorto keeps locked with Farren, the black lightning around his staff nod dieing down but unable to travel down Farren's blades "Why do you fear the truth Lindar? Accept it. It is as real as the darkness around you." Farren twists, shoving his blades and the staff to the side and ramming his left knee hard into Vormorto's stomach. Vormorto winces, letting out a blast of dark lightning escape his mouth, aimed at Farren's face, his aura weakening the attack, leaving a dark burn on his cheek. Quickly both back away from each other.

Part Three: The Hand of Darkness

Vormorto pulls the dark crystal shard off the staff, throwing the staff down and holding the dark crystal in his hand "Its time..." He starts to laugh darkly, his voice loud and maddening, his eyes tensing as he starts to shout.

Farren concentrates and his body continues to generate the icy blue aura more brightly, his body seeming to almost be made of it.

"Take me darkness. Give me the strength and knowledge only you have. I no longer wish to continue this pitiful mortal existence. Dark Crystal please, grant me strength, give me the powers of the eternal darkness!" Vormorto's aura starts to become visible again, seeming to start to burn his very body "Yes darkness. Take me, give me the powers of truth. So commands I Duraza Darkom, The Hand of Darkness! I offer to you my body and soul! Take it and grant me your power! Darkness! Take me! I care not for my own life. Allow me to complete my mission, to serve my goal. To become the very Hand of Darkness!" Vormorto watches as his body starts to burn, dark flames consuming him, he screaming yet laughing at the same time "I give you everything!"

Silavur shakes his head, "Your magical blades won't help you now Farren. I have to do this... just for future protection more than anything"

"Silavur, I'd not advise it," Farren says back.

Lirreka stares at Vormorto, her mask hiding her expression.

Silavur concentrates and gather a large aura of crystal energy. It builds and builds. He lets it float to Vormorto's body and wrap around him to counter the effects, Cruran summoning a burning bright point of light directly in front of Vormorto's eyes, and summons a huge crystal, heading for his back.

Vormorto's body explodes in a burst of dark flames, his power tearing the crystal energies around him into nothingness in the darkness. He emerges from the blast, his body seeming to have been completely taken over by the black flames, becoming dark flame itself, his eyes red as his mouth slowly opens "I am the Hand of Darkness. I am apart of darkness itself, it runs through my being. You all shall suffer my wrath. Welcome to oblivion."

Silavur looks back at Lirreka "Now you don't move out of that little shield." She smiles beneath her mask, not speaking back. Cruran slowly draws his swords, Farren walking towards Vormorto with a grim face.

"It is time," Vormorto says, letting out a savage roar, energy in his very voice. He slowly raises his hand, it pointed at Farren, a large orb of dark fire forming.

Then suddenly, something odd starts to happen. The death realm starts to become clouded by some sort of fog, the darkness around the disappearing. As if by the will of the gods rain starts to pour down over the Dark Citadel. The area becomes covered in the water, as it the forces of nature itself were siding against Vormorto, trying to see his defeat through. He falls to his knees, his flames starting to extinguish, "What's happening...who dares...!" Farren smirks, taking the chance and slashing at Vormorto, Silavur using his winds to create a water orb, sending it flying at Vormorto's chest.

Vormorto his hit by both attacks, his body slowly starting to wither away "No! I am darkness! I am eternal! What force could bring this upon the dark realm...." Cruran sends another crystal at Vormorto, he crying out in pain. Then Farren thrusts his blades through the remainder of Vormorto's body, he letting out a roar his body to weak to fight back, the rains finally fading, "No!.....My Power!"

Vormorto shouts, "Damn the gods! Damn you all! I am eternal! I shall return!" Slowly he fades into nothingness, only ashes left, slowly dispersing into the wind.

"I do not believe he'll be returning," Farren says, staring at the spot where Vormorto last stood. Lirreka sets a hand on Farren's left shoulder, nudging him.

"There's still others though," Cruran says.

Farren falls to his knees, dropping his blades and then falls to his back, lying unconscious.

Silavur reaches in his bag and takes out the piece of metal he found in Destot with the inscription on it, 'A gift to the tavern. The King of Decayers, Hand of Darkness'. Taking one last glance he throws it down onto the remains of Duraza's body.

[Poor Vormorto!  :o Seems weird when a big baddie just kinda dies... It's as if a hole's been ripped through your heart. And all the blood is gushing out, and leaks throughout your body, your mouth spilling crimson liquid...

[Yeah this was alot of fun although it took waaaaaaay too long! :) If Farren's battle music could've been readily available..then it might've been quicker. I think Duraza just wanted the gods to be responsible for his death. "NO MORTAL CAN TOUCH ME!"]

[Yeah. It was as big a shock to me as it was to the rest of you actually.  :P I planned to die there anyways though. That whole "turn my body into flame thingy" was pretty much a last resort. I don't like strong magic without strong consequence. like Duraza said he gave up "body and soul" which meant after that spells effects were over he would have been perma dead regardless.]

[If you thought this was over shame on you  :P This is like a little teaser for whoever is smart enough for what is to happen next. The link to where all these writtings are can be found here]

From The Book of Law:

Law Six: The Blinding Light
When Light was born all it knew as purpose was to seek its twin Darkness. It was blind to all that was around it, only ever knowing to search for Darkness. As something was revealed by Light Darkness disappeared from it, and just as quickly as it would be revealed it would become hidden again as Light continued its search. Light saw all but understood nothing. It only wanted to find Darkness, the one thing that would always be hidden from Light's eyes.

Those who use the power of Light can reveal all but are blinded to the truth, to ever understand what that which they reveal means. They will only continue to reveal, always searching for that which they will never see. In this way they are eternally blinded, their search in vain.

Law Seven: The Hiding Darkness
When Darkness was born it saw all things. It learned of everything and understood all truths and destinies. It shrouded all things in itself and as it understood all truths it hid the truth from those unable to understand itself. Light started to make the Darkness scatter and hide, revealing only partial truths, never the whole truth at once. Only Darkness was fated to understand everything. The fact that Light could not understand that it could never see Darkness was proof of this, proof that only Darkness knew all truths and that Light new only a few.

Those who use the power of Darkness can find all truths lie within their own power. However they will realize that as long as the Light seeks them they will always have to hide. The truth is something Light can never understand so it is the job of those who use Darkness to protect it and to hide it.

The Prophecy, The Final Destiny
All truths lay in Darkness. The most important of all truths, however, lays only in the deepest darkness. This truth is the ultimate power, the greatest treasure, the incarnation of purpose. Known as The Final Destiny this truth is the greatest secret of Darkness, and the one best protected. It contains knowledge beyond all belief. However to find the ultimate darkness one must put out all the lights.

The Prophecy states that one day mortals will gather and work to create darkness. Wars will be fought and many will be killed but in the end the mortals will reach the ultimate darkness and find the truth. They will unite all parts of darkness and stand before Darkness itself to retrive this truth and once it is done the time of darkness will be at end.

[Wonder if anyone is curious.....Oh well till then more clues  :P]

Law Eight: Death
It has been said that there is only one destiny all mortals share, death. This is a lie. Death is a fate one chooses. To die forever because you can not overcome it. Death is not permanent and therefore one can surpass it. At the same time there is a second way to beat death, immortality. To gain access to the higher realm, that of heaven, one shall live an eternal life. Death itself, while a powerful magic, is not the greatest and therefore it can be surpassed and/or defeated.

Law Nine: Life
Like darkness and light, life is almost the opposite twin of death. However what many do not understand is that even in death there can be life. Life is stronger than Death and for the fact that even in the very realm of Death Life can exist Life is an extremly powerful magic. A master can bring life to anything. All things breath with a life of their own for life is not just the state of living, it is the state of existing. To exist is to have a form of life and while not all living things are alive they have been given life in the realm they live in or were created in.

Law Ten: Decay
Of all magics the greatest is Decay. Of all fates there is one that everything shares. All things with form must eventually Decay. Nothing can escape Decay for it is the destiny of all things. The proof of this lays within the God's weapon Ultima. It was a a collection of the greatest powers, of magics beyond the comprehension of even the Gods. Yet the light that came from it turned black and the power contained within the staff decayed. Magic, like gods, can not die. However, there is nothing that prevents them from being weakened, decayed. None can stop Decay.
