Terrible lags in Hydlaa

I have a problem with terrible lagging when I'm in Hydlaa which makes this game almost unplayable. My comp sould do just fine but it doesn't. It's Athlon xp 2000@1.8 ghz 512 ram and ge-force 6600 gt card. Everything else works just fine but Hydlaa. Help please.

i was like that, look on the main site and se the take out grass option...thing...or lower your settings  ;)

My computer gets small lags in the places with grass even what it has got :-\ PentiumD 3ghz, 2gb RAM, radeon X1300 :surrender:

Well the grass option doesn't exist for all that I know and my settings can't be any lower. Someone ingame told me that it can be a high ping problem. When i checked it it was 445.Any ideas?

ping isn't the problem the ping is usually 300+. i sit around 370. it is grpaphics lag that you are seeing not connection lag. but there is a grassless map either on the main page or somewhere here in the forums.

Besides grass, also the new maps may cause lag. If the lag gets worse when looking at many buildings, try setting maximum distance in the camera settings in options.
Another cause may be the amount of memory you have. Some new maps take more memory than before, and I think they are not always unloaded properly when you leave a map (assuming you do not have ' keep maps loaded'  enabled in the first place). 512Mb is not that much then.

This is something that worked well for a few people, disable sound. There is another way you can speed parts of it up, if you compile from source... patch for labels, also put this in your art/effects/ folder (I have not actually tested this latest patch out, but it should work, hopefully)

The sound and the lighting systems are being looked into, hopefully after a few new versions released planeshift will be faster.  ;)
