PS spazzing out
« on: December 30, 2007, 06:05:09 am »
This is really weird. One day I was playing PS, it was working fine. The next day the graphics are messed up. When I log in, I don't see the preview of my character and don't see my mouse. When I'm in the game, all characters' legs and arms are gone, and I cant see any chat windows or toolbars or info windows or anything......  I've tried reinstalling. Can someone help?

Odd, what model is your graphics card? And have you got the latest drivers for it installed?
Confusion is always the most honest response

Did you compile PS, or do you have a compiled version of PS?  Sometimes I notice weird thing happen when the Crystal Space environment variables are set (and if you don't know what this is then never mind).

Sorry this took so long to reply, I was on vacation. My graphics card is Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family. Yes, I have to most updated drivers, and no I didn't compile PS, I downloaded it right off the site.

Ouch, Intel Express? You can try putting all settings in ps-setup at the very lowest, that might help. Intel Express isn't a real graphics card, unfortunately.

I know it sucks, but my point is that PS ran fine one day, then was bugged the next

Actually I have the same chip and everything looks ok (only a bit slow in some areas).
And I last updated my drivers last summer.

You can always try reinstalling Planeshift.
