Cannot connect to the server

I have just started to download the program today and i have version 0.3.020 i installed the game and tried to connect.
I tried to use the servetr connection they give you, but it doesn't connect
i have tried 4 hours trying to connect. it seams like a good game but i don't know whats wrong.

I have tried to put in manual servers , but none have worked.
here are the ones i have,

i can ping the first one and it comes back fully functional
but when i try to connect throught the server thing client it doesnt want to connect
i need some help with this because i really want to play

have you checked to make sure port 7777 is open and planeshift if allowed access though your firewall?

yes i have on my fire wall port 7777 as udp on
my fire walll is also turned off
Would having nortan antivirus installed effect it???

maybe the server is having issues, wait a while and try again. also antivirus software would not affect this

the first one is is the default that came with the game and i have nortan installed
im currently also having problems with my ps3 connecting it to the ps3 network
i just think that my router blocks alot of connections
please help......

as it states in the tech help guide, there are too many different routers and configurations for different models and what not for us to provide you a walk through about how to set up forwarding of ports in your router.  It is suggested you go to your router's manufacturer for such info.  Major manufacturers will provide this info on their website.

I know how to port forward i have a linksys router.
Would it be my router that would be blocking it?
I have tried many times for my router to forward and trigger the playstaion network
but all have failed will it be like this for the plane shift game?

just turned of all my fire walls and nortan and it was just like last time..... all servers said failed.
I have yet to try port forwarding
i hope that this wortks....

ive done the same thing you did and it does the same.....
but when i got to the client it doesnt do anything it just says failed by the server name
i dont know whats wrong

you asked for the IP address for the server, so I can assume you were going to try to port forward it.  I provided a screen shot of a ping.  Inside every ping it returns the ip address.

i'm probably reiterating some stuff previous mentioned but... it looks like something isn't lined up somewhere for you

first clean out the servers.xml. you want just:

don't know where the rest lead to and it doesn't matter too much.

second just double check that in the top left of the client it says 3.20.

now. bring up the command prompt and type

ping laanx.fragnetics.comand

Code: [Select]

ping 203.81.44.242and then post what you get.

now type in

tracert -d laanx.fragnetics.comand

Code: [Select]

tracert -d 203.81.44.242
then try hooking your computer straight into your modem, and then trying again.

all the things worked but when i did trace fisrt this is what i got

im sory this is so hard for u, im having troble right now too, i can't seem to doenload the game at all. it always times out on me. im not very good at coputer talk,i was hoping this game wouldn't be so much work just trying to MAKE it work..... if someone could help me that would be nice as well, btw, what kind of computer do u have? mine is a windows vista. i hope we both are going to be able to play this game

goozerdude... not very. first it means that you've got something blocking icmp (ping) packets. i'm going to guess that it is what ever box that is the 192.168.254.254. given that you can post you do have a connection out.  i'm going to guess that the first is a linksys box, and probably the second as well...

try bypassing the first one and connecting to the second. see if that helps. if not post the same set of results... all of them again.

basically it looks like you have two "home/small office" routers wired together. while you can do that, it isn't recommended in 90% of cases and you have to know what you are doing, and why it isn't recommend, and how to fix the problem.
