new and unable to connect

Hi all, I'd really like to try out this game but am having some problems.  I read the post about what to do if you can't connect and I did what it said except for changing the server information from the name to the numbers (190. whatever it is).  I found the file to change but couldn't figure out how to change it.  Checked the suggested links and they both say the server is online but my client tells me it is offline.  I can ping it though.  Any suggestions?  I am running Vista.

The server fell a few minutes ago. It should be back up in just a little while. Please be patient, this sort of thing happens every now and then. Remember this is a project in development.

The game being so new and still in development makes me want to play it.   Anyways, I understand the server will go off sometimes, but I have been trying for a few hours now so I thought maybe it could be something else.  But I am new afterall... so what do I know? lol

If you can ping the server it is possibly a firewall issue, Vista may have blocked it so check the firewall settings to see if it is an allowed program. Turn off the firwall to test if you have to.

I turned of Norton and Windows Firewall, but I'll mess around with it some more later.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Ah I think my noobness is showing, I am such a fool.  I thought I was turning off Norton Firewall when in fact I wasn't.    So I can connect now, just gotta work on the verification email part.  Thanks for the help all.
