Hydlaa is Lagland. There's almost no way to avoid it, but it shouldn't be that laggy. Maybe you need a new machine... or something... I'm not that good with technology.  :sweatdrop:

It would help if you could post some system specs, like OS, CPU, RAM, Video card, etc.  Raa may be correct and your hardware may not be up to the task.  Or perhaps it's configured wrong from a software perspective.

And after, pretty surprisingly, no one else did: :)
http://planeshift.alphasys.nl/downloads/complete_hydlaa_without_grass_by_Hassadria.zip grassless hydlaa (should improve performance)
replace your hydlaa map with this one (or ask here if you need details how to replace)

I know also make sure your in game options are correct to, I know on my crappy PC, when in Hyldaa i Have to lower the distance way down, just remember to bring it back it back up when your out of hydlaa cause it makes it easer to see father, and make sure your FPS did not get messed with (for some reason mine has a time or two..I swear a little leprechaun or gnome  logs on and plays with settings at times)  but yeah if that's too low it will cause bad lag,  your best bet, my guess would be to remove the grass and maybe even get more RAM, PS takes a lot of RAM.

I have the same problem. PlaneShift takes up about 500 MB of RAM, but I have 1GB (and 2GHz of processing). It works fine for 30 seconds, but just lags the whole system, and I have to restart my computer.

System stats? Yes, I have tried the system fix (adding the two lines of code, right). It allows me to walk around for an added 20 seconds.
