Crashing (Ubuntu Linux)
« on: February 18, 2008, 08:54:09 pm »
I didn't have much trouble installing PS, and when the server went back up I tried to log in.  I'll put in my email and password and click on connect, then the client crashes, no errors or anything, it just disapears.  Is there anything I can do for this?

I don't know, but your hardware information (cpu/processor, RAM/memory, Ubuntu version, graphic/video card) might help  ;)

LOL I have had this happen both times ( I am totally new to the game) I start the game runaround trying to figure out what I am supposed to do or how to ask questions and what not , anyway I am playing the game then suddenly the game just dissappears I have to reboot the game again
I am using Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon and my system is a P4 3 Ghz I have 1.5 gigs of ram and my Vid card is radeon x800 xt
this is the only thing that bugs me is that I play then it crashes within one hr of playing the first time it did this I had to reboot my computer because when I rejoined the game it was extremely laggy and everything was black except for other players .  I am hoping that I can fix this because the game is interesting

if you try running from a console that you should get some output that might be useful.

everything was black except for other players

This might be a failure to load textures (in which case the console output should say so) or a problem with your 3d drivers setup (in which case the console will probably not say anything).

I'm not sure but there may also be -debug and -verbose (or --debug and --verbose) options you can run the game with from the console that will show different or more output.
