Right-click seems to be AWOL?
« on: March 04, 2008, 01:20:38 am »
For some reason right-click is completely AWOL for me in SB.   Ctrl+click does absolutely nothing, and Options won't let me change the mouse settings.  It worked fine with CB, and I'm not seeing any references to this being a known error in the posts about SB.

I can work around it, of course, but it's a bit of a pain to have to type all my commands, to say the least!

in options click mouse under controls, there you have to change right click to control click to do that hold down control and click on set then click save, and that will fix it.

I swear it didn't work the first time I tried that, but now it does, so, eh!  :P   Thank you!

For the last release I set this by default in the OSX release. This time, however, we are trying to stream-line the release process a bit. As a consequence we try to keep the platform-specific configurations to a minimum. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hmmm... I can't get ctrl-click to work at all.  I've copy/pasted the post caarrie linked to for the old mac keyboard assignments, and I've tried to manually change it in the options menu but I still can't get it to work.  Can the OP remember what they did to make it work the second time?

Initially it worked (for, like, a minute) just by using the mouse controls in the Options menu, but after that I just went to mouse_def.xml and C&P'd the text Caarie gave, and it's worked just fine.

alright, i don't know what I did, but I just re-copy/pasted the info from caarrie's post into those 2 xml files and now it works fine.  Now if I could just see other player's names when I click on them instead of "unknown"...

That's just a matter of getting introduced to everybody & vice versa - it's a new and much-discussed feature that you don't know the names of anybody until you learn them...
If you're standing in a group of people, all "unknown", try typing /introduce without having a target - this introduces you to all around you  :)
We, all of us, serve a higher purpose. Finding it out, however... :)

I as well am having the same problem.  I changed it in game and wasn't able to get it to work, so I quit and tried again and still couldn't get it to work.  I then went to try Caarie's method but when I open up any of the .xml files it opens up Big Bang Mancala (which came on the Macbook).  I am not too computer literate as it is so I'm not sure what to do from that point.

My right click doesn't work either. I've tried everything. But I can't find the files controls.xml and mouse.xml, I looked through my application support/plane shift..

Please help.

Edit: Found it in another map. It works now.

I tried to find mouse_def.xml but I can't find it anywhere. All I have in my planeshift folder is:
Art, Data, Docs, Guide, psclient, psclient.cfg, pssetup, pssetup.cfg psupdater, readme-osx, support, uninstall, updaterinfo, xml, vfs.cfg

Any ideas where it could be? Thanks.
