icons for changing the default speech way

i think it would be pretty useful if there were icons (or another way) to change the currenv defualt way of speech. because sometimes you don\'t have time nor nerve to type everytime that you want to shout/whisper/whatever, or (if it actually comes to that, which i hope) in which language you want to speak.

here are some scenarios:
-you and your palls are lost in a mist or each on his own mountain top: you yell all the time
-you and your companion(s) are following someone or waiting in an ambush: you whisper all the time

i think that would pretty much lessen the time you have to type everything down and decrease the possibility of unwanted \"normal talk\", which can be fatal when you intend to whisper and can be a pain if you were intended to scream

btw: i imagined that the icons would be on the top of the talking window ...but maybe it would be more eye-candy somewhere else

Making a good UI and adding quick speak ability ?attack target X?, ?thank you?, ? I am doing a Task for Y, he/she/it wants me to take this X to Z? and other simple speech abilities would be nice and cool?the issue is making sure we have enough to encompass most things, yet short enough so the player won?t get stuck in the menu for 3 minutes trying to find the right phrase.

This menu concept also adds the ability for people who don?t speak English to have a menu in their language and still communicate with people in any language?the client can say Language X and go on with that?

I am not saying that all the NPCs will have this, Reading English for now will be required unless someone can make a simple translator for those languages, but for quick communication with players, simple phrases this would be a nice addition?

At least that is something we have spoken about.

Paxx that isn\'t what he meant, I don\'t think.  You are thinking of the ToonTown popup menus.  He is talking about buttons in the UI which decide whether your \"just plain typing\" is /say, /shout/, whatever when unspecified.

yea, that\'s it :]

i had this idea before i even got to play PS just from seeing the screenshots ...but now that i\'ve played a few times, i can see that this option almost a must-have. ...especially since there\'s no mighty-tab and no history :(.

I definitely think this is a much needed feature, and it probably wouldnt be too difficult to program. Everyone spends way to much time typing in /shout and all that stuff when they need to be saying things fast. I\'m sure it would be greatly appreciated if this was integrated into the game...
