Do you think that the label size ingame is too big?

There is a change you can do to make them smaller:
in your ps folder go to data/effects/misc/ and open label.eff in any text editor

find the line that looks like
Code: [Select]
<obj type="label" name="label" labelwidth="2.0" material="mat_labelfonttable" sizefile="/this/data/effects/misc/glyphs_baar_sophia.xml">
change the 2 in labelwidth to something smaller and it will make the labels smaller ingame. I personally use labelwidth="1"

Save this file and DO NOT change anything else in the file.

Yes its too big... I don't know much about that bandwith jazz, but let me just say the size it once was is fine... Any reason we can't have that size back? Does it cause Giga-Lag?

It caused giga mem usage and for some that made them lag as well ;)

Ah alright... I suppose we don't have any choice but to try out each bandwith style ourselves?

I mean, its not like someone is kind enough to just take a screenshot of each kind?  :P

i think the label of the health, stamina etc stats is too small.
it's hard to read the text ... and look  e.g. how many health you have or so...
the font or size is .. not good.

(with the stats i don't mean the menu when you press "p", i mean the little widged)

I'd rather see them turned into a non-scaling effect, like chatbubbles. Although I use a lot smaller font for those too.

My concern is that the labels are often positioned a bit too high above some races' heads.

And I will shrink them a bit as well.

Personally I think the labels should be like those sticky "Hi my name is _____" labels you get at cheesy events such as class reunions, i.e. wear them on your chest and not like a halo. That would, of course, necessitate them being smaller and might go a long way towards solving their lag inducing properties. They would become a texture instead of a completely separate mechanism tacked on to the model.

heh...i was just thinking you could be really creative with the labels being so big...use them as billboards!

although somehow i think that would get you reported to the GMs really fast...but perhaps if you used it for IC things? I'm surprised no one's come up saying, space for rent, just look up. :P

If you change the size of the labels, only you will see that ;)

With how big the current labels are, they already are the size of billboards. xD
