requested help for site update...

hello everyone,  I've been in communication with a representative of this site here: http://www.happypenguin.org/show?PlaneShift

As you can see, they've updated the game version to .4.0, but they're still using a screen from the days of old. (in this case MB)

Sooo, I've been speaking with them and they would like to update it, and this is where you all come in.

What they are looking for is something along the lines of maybe this: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s55/Maanahr/linked/shot34.jpg  except that they'd like the gui left in for the screenshot as

Well, what I'm looking for in screenshots is that one can see the HUD elements as well, as this is the way a player will see the game. I could fire up the game myself but that would only result in a screenshot of the starting location which is a bit boring.

The MB screenshot problem is known, and unfortunately for us it's nearly universal. You can find those same MB screenshots at gamefaqs, at mmosite...basically anywhere it's listed. Worse yet, there seem to be no SB or even CB pics at any of these places. I don't know how to get in contact with all of them and get them to update, but it would probably be a worthwhile exercise.

They all copy their screenshots for games from other game listers so if you manage to put recent screenshots on the game listers people check out mostly, the new sites will copy these recent screenshots.

OKay!  update time.  We're going with something like the third one Caarrie submitted above.

But, what they are hoping we could get one like it, only have some player characters in it as well.

So maybe someone has a nice screenshot of a little event or something at the tavern or something with the gui left in?  I think that'd work out quite nicely.

If I'm reading this post correct, this is for suggestions on a new splash screenshot for the game?  Looks like you got something picked out, but just thought I'd chime in real quick on a scene that impressed me.  I just started playing but my first trip to the Bronze Doors was pretty cool and thought that'd make a great screenshot.  Either from the bottom looking up or from one of the caves looking down.  Just thought I'd throw that in there as it seemed like a nice change of scenery from other games.  Nice job for the guys that worked on it.

not really a new splash screen, but there are many websites around the web that have old screnshots on them as examples of what PS is for the people who are maybe previewing this game through that site.

and I've been in contact with one of these about getting their example screnshots updated, and so, we have this thread.  Simply looking for people to pitch in with their screenies they've taken.  Community involvement and all that jazz.

hmmm wouldn't it be better if things showed in the buddylist and the chat and shortcut menu? Seems a bit empty and therefor artificial atm.

considering i took the screenshot on my server there are not really many to add to the buddy list that are "real" chars unless i take a lot of time to make chars. Also i dont wish for my shortcuts to show up but atleast you can see they are there.

Your buddies Vengeance, Player1, Player2 and Dev3 could be shown
And maybe have a talk with DictMaster1 to get some text in the chatwindow

Not a bad screenshot, but I think it would've been nicer if you had turned all your settings up to the max for the occasion
