Why don't we accept players to post their own ideas about a thing, although it's posted. Ideas should be closed only if the idea is the same, posted by another player. Let's say a guy posts a not so creative idea of something, lets say chating, months ago and ppl aren't alowed to post their own, personal ideas. The rule "If an idea has already been proposed, a duplicate thread (that discusses the same idea again) will be deleted".

And please do not delete this post because it's off topic. The topic is about "PS, game play, bugs, website, etc.", the topic is a part of the forums wich are a part of the website.

You can post your thoughts in the same thread as the person who first posted that idea and if the thread was locked then it's probably because all that needed to be said about that idea was already said. Make sure that what you want to say has not be said before. That's why the search function is there, to avoid redundancy.

If you have a unique perspective about an idea posted by somebody else but their thread was locked, and if your idea doesn't break any of the rules of content of the wish list section or the PS forums, you should be able to start a new thread (afaik).

It is good to want to participate by adding ideas for this and that but sometimes newcomers' enthusiasm gets the better of them. I know it is pretty hard to see what all has previously suggested because there are so many previous threads. The wish list itself has fairly restrictive policies and the games development future is fairly static. That does not mean new ideas are unwelcome but it means that the more familiar you are with where the game is and where it has been the more closely your ideas will fit with the game's philosophy. Radical changes are almost never considered seriously and will usually only be discussed if posed in a way that relates them to current development.

Instead of taking a shotgun approach to posting wishes you might have better luck getting discussion by posting one thing at a time in the general discussion forum. That does not mean posting five threads in succession about different things before the first one has had a chance to be responded to, but rather post one thing and discuss it for a few days then another. Still there are a few who will look at your idea and reject it out of hand, even derisively. It can be discouraging. You can usually rely on the game officials -- devs, mods and gms -- to be polite but they are not perfect and sometimes jump on the mocking bandwagon. Some are better than others and some are less engaged than others.

You are often better off asking questions about your ideas than putting them forth directly.

Use the search button.  If the topic has been discussed recently, post in that thread.  If it's been a while or the thread is closed then start a new thread but link to the old one.

Keep in mind, after so many years there are a lot of things that have been discussed.

nightwolf, I have seen you create wishlist threads about topics that the stickied Wishlist Rules themselves mention not to touch. And recreate them. And recreate once more, regardless of the explanations and replies you receive before those threads are rightfully locked. Sometimes, paying attention to where the door is, is just easier than banging your head into a wall, hoping to create another entrance...

Use the Advanced search button. It gets you closer to what you are looking for.

I think just about everything you posted has been talked about before, or does not fit the design of PlaneShift. We are not trying to be another WoW or Runescape.

In the end it is not our forum. It is forum for us, but its owned by AB people. It is they who decide what is on the forum.
There is no such thing as complete freedom of word on internet forums. You write what you are allowed. Doing otherwise your words can be instantly deleted and you banned (hopefully not here*, what i'm thankful for)
Of course it is in interest of forum owners to allow enough freedom so everyone can enjoy, but also their own feeling about the need of word freedom.

But wishlist is more than a forum where you can write all you think about. It is a place we want devs to read. The more chaotical it is, the lower chance they implement good things out of it.

So um yeah, I want your wishlist post to be locked and deleted untill you come up with something decent.
