Trouble loading Hydlaa
« on: April 10, 2008, 06:45:33 pm »
Well I made my way to Hydlaa and entered into a built up area, I can do this with no problems, however, whenever I attempt to enter the main area the game gives me one of those EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION thingies. Whenever I load this character it does this. I created a new character, returned to Hydlaa and went to the same place and the same error thing happens. Both of these attempts were with Endikukai. I decided to try again, this time as a Klyros as I know that they spawn in that area and yet again the game gives me the same error. Are there any know problems with this area of Hydlaa or is t just something on my end being silly?

Also, if I am unable to fix this I think that I might start again, only the problem is, whenever I do start again it puts me straight into the game; no tutorial. This wouldn't be bad except it means I start with no money and no item from Xargon, which is rather annoying. Is there a way to redo the tutorial with another character or are you only able to do it with one character?

Only the first character you create on your account goes through the tutorial - it's meant to be an introduction to the game and its controls, so if you've played before, you might find it annoying to go through the whole thing again. The only way to redo it, is to delete all characters on your account and create a "first" again, for now.

I think knowing what graphics card you have (and driver version) might help the most at the moment.

Thanks for the tutorial  help

I'm using Windows XP, with 1 GB of RAM and 2.80 GHz of what I'm guessing is processing power (I'm not great with computers)
I don't know what graphics card I have, mainly because I don't know how to find out :S

It's fairly easy: type dxdiag into the Run command, then head over to the Display tab. The information you're looking for is the following:

Depending on your manufacturer (Nvidia, ATI, or someone else), visit their website and see if they have driver updates. It's a longshot, but perhaps it'll help out.

I did that and it turns out that it has 128 mb of memory meaning that my computer is either the same or better than what is recommended, this puzzles me.

Thanks for the help

Hmmm, well I guess I'll just start again and avoid Hydlaa, although if I did this then I'd never know if it was safe for me to go back there which is kind of a blow.

Although, can't GMs move your character? I think I heard this somewhere...
