access violation 007B3e7d stuck in tutorial because of it
« on: April 12, 2008, 03:37:39 pm »
I just started playing planeshift and am still in the tutorial.  After starting the game it seemingly randomly crashes.  I get the access violation error followed by the number 007B3e7d.  I did a search but found no reference of this particular number.  I've crashed multiple times usually while talking with the npc's in the tutorial.  Unfortunately this happened while talking to the roleplaying npc.  This of course has had the effect of leaving me without the items to speak with him(as he took them before) and as far as i know unable to retrieve them.  So i think im now stuck in the tutorial indefinitely.

as stated here: http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30436.0

try talking to him and telling him "ready" and see if he moves on with what the npc's supposed to do next.

as for the crashing,  can't help you much with just that limited info, other than to say, have you made sure everything is up to date/installed the latest graphics card drivers?

For the tutorial part you can fill out a petition in game and one of the GM's will assist you when they are online.

You can also check your logs to see what the last question the NPC asked you was, and you should be able to pick up by answering that question with no need to give him the items again.
