I spent days learning to tie a half windsor, got it on the morning of my wedding, lucky huh!
If you are really wearing a real Tux then were a bow tie, more difficult to tie but a long tie will look silly. If you are wearing a suit then don't wear a bow tie for the same reason.
Do learn the half windsor, it looks fuller, if you tie it regular you will look like a school boy.
