Let's hear you opinions on what skills in the 'Various' category should be implemented first and why.

I think that the 'Hide in Shadow' ability should be first since it allows player more advantages against creatures when starting the attack. I think there should be a bonus damage also when attacking when in stealth. Attacking would break the stealth but it'd give you the advantage. Also the 'Backstab' skill would increase this damage.

:devil:Aside from advantages, it would make dark and evil characters more realistic. Some bandit or assassin isn't going to walk up to you and say your money or your life in the real world. They're going to sneak up behind you, put a knife you your throat and take what they want. Simple as that. So that why i think the 'Hide in Shadow' ability should be the first one implemented.

posting what you want till not in this case make the devs work any harder or faster to get these skills working, the devs have a set of goals for each release they must stick to. also it is not so easy to pick and chose what you the devs to work on as some might rely on other code that is not written for other things before that can skill can be done.

I was just hypothetically speaking that if a skill was to be chosen to be implemented first, then... i know they're working hard, all the testing, script writing, debugging. It is really hard work. I'd love to get a job with them but i don't have much free time and don't i could apply because of my age (17)... I've only written 2 websites in my life, and only written script for them with links and stuff. But writing game codes in a whole new level of script writing with If <action1> then <reaction1> If <action 2> then <reaction2> and a whole slue of stuff. I really appreciate what they do, it's just i was speaking my mind in a hypothetical situation.

I think the musical instrument skill is the most interesting. I should add that both Lockpicking and Empathy are currently implemented but aren't very useful.

Yes, I would love to be able to climb down a few of the ladders in the game without overshooting them every time and taking a ton of damage.

What you have to wonder is, how climb is going to work as a trainable skill.
Passive or active? How it will work, limits etc.

I can only assume it would be an active based skill that is activated before use otherwise you'd end up running to any wall and then automatically climbing.
You'd have limit the amount of time, or put a healthy stamina drain on it to make it viable and not have random Enki's climing up the side of the bronze doors region..
once the skills time or your stamina runs out you fall (assuming your not on a ledge) and depending on how high up you are - die.

Fly! lol no seriously .. if i think in practical terms.. i am hoping the devs unlock a new skill.. like alchemy or herbology stuff.. would bring in a new job craze , new plants and minerals to dot the world and combinations to keep people active  :D . The enchanting skill will be nice too.. but i only see crafting as the only real job in planeshift :( wish something with minerals(alchemy) and plants(herbology) is implemtned to make permanant and temporary boosters. Would be intresting. Lower lvls the boosting is temporary with increasing timing out buffs with higher lvl and at top most lvl its a one time permanant boost or soemthing. the buff aybe be for equipment (alchemy) and for pet or self (herbology).. hmm well always dreamt about it .. hehehe but so far happy that its moving ahead.

I'm kidding on climb.  What I would rather see is a game mechanic that recognizes I'm climbing down a ladder and moves me down it instead of letting me run right over it to my doom.  We don't need skills to climb ladders... ropes, mountains, difficult terrain, those would be places where climb would kick in.

I'd vote for anything in the trade skill or combat areas before that though.

Climbing would also be useful for climbing trees and scaling buildings.  Anyways, can we just stick to skills that are in the various category please and not go off-topic?  Somehow I would expect more people to choose riding since they complain about having to travel.
