The Story of Eistean Amaedi

Hey well this is my first post and first time making a background like this so some constructive criticism would be nice. Thank you.

My name is Eistean Amaedi and this is my story.
Listen up, I'm only going to tell you all this once. It's the history of the end of the dwarven clan of Amaedi and the fall of my own family. We were a strong clan. We guarded the inside reaches of the Stone Labyrinths guarding against all the evils that it holds.I was 57 at the time. I was one of the greatest dwarfs in my clan. I lived in a house in the outpost with my wife Pabbay, my two childeren Gillemorrie and Torquil, and my brother Kwip. My brother and I were among the top fighters of our clan. We fought every battle together, against the hordes of the Stone Labyrinth. On that fatefull day we had been informed about a sorceress gone bad. Her name was Aesma of the Grey Mist. Me and my brother led a band of our clan's best warriors to take her down. She made her dark fortress in one of the bigger caverns of the Labyernths. Our spell weavers pulled down the barriers of magic that she pulled forth to block the enterance and we stormed into a makeshift throne room, which is when we learned that she had hired a small army of rouges and outlaws to guard her palace. Me and my men held off the fighters as Kwip forced his way through the enemies to confront Aesma herself. They battled in the middle of the dias with blade and magic, the throne long being torn away through magic attack. As my brother struck the death blow of the witch, she raised her voice in a final curse aimed at Kwip. As she died she gave a mysterious smile, and my brother had a strange look on his eyes. As I looked around the room, I beheld the destruction. All of the Aesma's hired army was dead, as was all of my clansmen exept for myself and my brother. I had recieved a leg wound, so I limped towards my brother who was still bent over Aesma's lifeless form. When he looked into my eyes I understood what the witch's last curse had been. I looked into Kwip's eyes and madness stared back at me. She had driven my brother insane. I brought my brother home and nursed him but there was nothing I could do. Then one night as I came home Pabbay came running up to me to tell me that Kwip had escaped. I later learned that he came here, to Hyllda. Then one day years later, when I came home one night from the border guard of my town I smelled blood. Lots of blood. I saw my cousins lying around the street dead. I ran home as fast as possibly able. As I opened the door I saw my family, my entire family was dead. Kwip was standing over them holding a bloody knife. He burst out in a manic laugh. I knew that my brother was dead. I drew my sword and he drew his. We circlied the room, in dueling stance. We fought for hours. My brother was more talented than me but the madness drove him beyond all reason. He finally made a flaw and I drove my sword into his heart. As my brother sunk to his knees, I saw sanity return to his life for an instant. He whistered only three words, "I'm sorry,Brother." Then  sunk to my knees and cried. I went out to search for survivors but I knew in my heart what the truth was. In his madness my brother had killed his entire clan. I went back and for two days I buried my entire family. After that I took all of my money and went to the closest tavern, crawled into the bottom of an ale bottle and haven't been out for four years. Lately I had been running out of money and so went out and tried to attack some monsters. I found that my talents had atrophied with the years I spent being as drunk as I possibly could be. I was attempting to down a tefusang, a creature that would not have taken me an instant 4 years ago, When a man named Phinneas came and helped me in more ways than one. He showed me the true love that he held with his fiance Amaneldth, and it reminded me of the love I had for my family. They would not have wanted to see me like this. So with the help of my two new friends I am rebuilding my talents to try and make sure nobody is ever hurt like I was ever again.

So thank you for reading my story and I might change it depending on what advice you give. Thanks again.
