Dont download or PLAY Planet Entropia
« on: April 09, 2003, 03:01:35 am »
Wow, I downloaded it because I couldnt use Planeshift, When I looked at Screenshot I was like...cool! nice game, why not playing?...so I continued soo and then, I talked to some people with nice equipment. The game was cool until I knew that to buy items IN GAME, you need to take REAL money and put it in....and then you can buy items for REAL CASH...lmao, thats the most shittiest game Ive seen, unless one of you play it?

It\'s Project Entropia.
And it\'s not that bad of a game.  Many games are P2P, and in this one, you get to choose how much you want to pay.  I played the game for about a month before I found this.  The graphics are so awesome. I\'ve never put any money in, but I\'ve run around the entire map and seen a lot of cool sights and monsters.  It\'s also nice for practicing my spanish. (Some dude gave me 1 PED and a Solomate Outbacko {a type of laser rifle} for talking to him in spanish)  I do not recommend the game, though.  The lag is so horrible, it makes it very difficult to fight, and you waste a lot of ammo, which is precious.

LMAO! the money is the only thing you have against that game? 10 real life dollars is equal to 100 Project Entropia Dollars! You can buy a lot of REALLY good stuff with 100 PED! I like the game, I get no lag from it. If you dont want to give money into Project E then just beg for money! Ive gotten about 9 PED from beggin. bought myself a blaster lots of ammo a mask and some other misc. armor! with just 9 PED! thats equal to.... 90 cents? Come on! its not that much! and if you beg long enough you can might get 100 PED then you can extract that PED from project entropia to your credit card and BOOM! you got 10 free real life dollars!

I have decided to keep the game entirely separate from real life.  I will not add money into the game, and I will not take any money out.  The fact that I have no credit card is a sort of catalist in this decision, but nevertheless...

I have only twice gotten anything from begging. Actually once. I got 100 ammo and a mostly broken Omegaton (the worst gun in the game) from some dude I called dad because he looked just like me but bigger.  I also got 1 PED, some ammo, and a brand new Outbacko (second worst gun in the game) from some other dude who spoke spanish. I never even begged him for anything, I just talked to him for a while and he gave me some stuff. Begging for money, then taking it out of the game is kinda low, Kinoss. Besides, it would take like a year of begging at least 4 hours a day to get 100 PED with the luck I\'ve had so far.  That\'s not quite worth it.  There are many good aspects to that game, though.  Graphics, animations, character customization (it\'s almost worth it to just download it so you can create a character, then quit without saving the character and keep doing that.), humongous map, etc.

I don\'t understand why so many people bag Project Entropia out you can pay like $10 or Nothing  every 4 months and get some good gear and money or you can pay $40 a month and go play Everquest which looks and plays about 5 times as worse  PE idea I think is alot smarter the EQ or UO way of getting money as well as more player freindly

Well, it appears some people here play this game. So, if you do, could you put your name up? Maybe I\'ll meet you there someday.  I am Ravenmaster.

Looks like Entropia is a real challenge! :)

Just wonder what the strategy of the makers is. Are they possessing almost every shop and selling computer generated blasters - zero production cost - to user? LOL - good idea! - I don\'t mind them making money though, if it\'s a fair and enjoyable offer.

Can you pay them per bank account?

I\'m not sure what you mean by this.  You can pay with a credit card or you can go to your bank and fill out a form and your bank will send PE some money. When they get that money (it says it takes up to four weeks), they will add the appropriate amount to your character\'s wallet.

EDIT: In case you do play this game, don\'t make the mistake I jsut made.  There\'s an auction place, and they only deal in PED, not PEc (Project Entropia Dollars and cents).  I just bought 3 ammo for 2 PED, thinking I was getting it for 2 PEc. As I only had 2 PED, now I\'m completely broke, and I may get 3 ammo from it (worth 1 cent each). So, don\'t do that. Also, if you see me around, could you spare me some change?

Sounds like it\'d be a pretty cool game if you could earn PED by killing monsters.  Then you\'d just have to buy some equipment to start with, and slowly by gaining skill you could eventually earn a living.  Or you could spend alot of money to begin with and earn money more easily.  If they did that, though, I guess they wouldn\'t earn as much money...

I haven\'t been there but I have read things that there are virtual enterprise facilities as well. So you can try start mining and producing goods that other people then will buy.

Somehow the idea is that doing things that are enjoyable for others or a service will bring you money - and a virtual living, so-to-say. - I guess that really isn\'t a bad idea, because people are more serious and bound up to the game when they can see their money working. (That\'s how they are.) Dunno how stable such an economy can grow.

Thought, some kind of earning money wouldn\'t be bad idea for planeshift, too. Virtual money, but it mustn\'t be easy to get it. Just like in real life you have to do something for it - or knock out somebody else.

:]

P.S. From what I see lately, they\'ll probably us this game as a (real) marketing instrument and earn money by that. Could turn out a suck!

It is extraordinarily difficult to gain money in this game.  Ammo cost 1 PEc each.  It takes a lot of ammo to kill something, and the most I\'ve ever gotten from a kill is 37 cents.  I think the way they (the PE people)make money is by making people think they (they participants) can make money.
