Loading Region Error!
« on: July 05, 2008, 10:23:38 am »
I use Vista (recently). I have the newest version of Planeshift and haven't had this problem before. Due to the need of a quest I decided to head to BD today. Found myself an issue, I can't get passed the load between BDroad1 and BDroad2. Somehow it must hate me now, I never had any problems with BD except lagging, now it won't even let me go through the load. Sorry for the huge image (forgot my screen is bigger then usual computers and I have it set for my wide screen...)! Please help, I am getting driven mad, any suggestions welcome!

try http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=32934.0

I tried running the updater, it hasn't helped, says that there are no new updates, then I try again and it still fails. Also I've found that sometimes if I come onto planeshift recently now I will spin on the spot or run somewhere and the client becomes non-responsive... Different issue, annoying but not so huge...

sadly i have the exact same problem. same region i try to enter the zone and i get a 'load region failed' message. I ran the updater(after fixing the updaterinfo.xml file. It stayed at 0% for a couple hours, then i got disconnected. Once i tried again it said no updates were avaliable, still cannot load  the region. I've 'renamed' the zip files for the region and had to redo the updaterinfo file (it didn't try to download the missing region i renamed)  now its sitting at 0% again  :o i'll leave it going  tonight and maybe something will happen  Any help to fix this issue would be great though as it has me stumped.
if you say its impossible, I\'ve already done it!

I fixed mine. I had another computer of mine and since it was the old version i updated it then flash-drived it across after uninstalling on this new computer (Vista) of mine. I believe it would be similar to uninstalling it then re-installing it, make sure to delete the folder if it doesnt once you've uninstalled. Then you should be good to go :)... Hope this helps and I'm glad I fixed mine... JF4LF

Well, sadly i attempted to leave the updater running. My mistake was assuming the updater actually resumed broken downloads. Apparently it does not  :'(  Not only is it impossible for me to stay online for the apparent 12+ hours the updater is going to need(Yes i'm dialup) after about 4 hours it made it to 25%. Unless this issue is fixed, i sadly don't see a way for me to update the game. Also i've noticed that ANY failed attempt to update the game, seems to result in the updater believing the game is updated(Though it is NOT). It did the same thing to me it did earlier when i disconnected. It said no more mirrors were avaliable, then it 'finished'. upon next time opening it said there were no updates avaliable. I only made it to 25%  :'(     Every time it does this, i have to fix the updatedinfo xml file. The last time it happen, it deleted the file completely..........when it failed.

                           help?  :(
