Stupid titles in support forums
« on: July 06, 2008, 10:01:30 pm »
Hi, ive noticed that alot of people name their threads like "Help plz" etc. This is quite annoying becuse i a, trying to find my problem in other threads before making my own thread. Things would be much easier if you mention your problems in the title.

(sorry if its the wrong forum for this or if this has been taken up before)

Regards remmy

I agree but there isn't much you can do. Its either more work for mods or educating people. Education is very difficult with the plxkthx types.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

It is a shame, but you can't help some people help themselves. All support forums have posting guideline stickies, people just ignore them and often appear to enjoy their ignorance.

Not alot any of us can do really. As for searching, make sure you include searching of the body of posts.

I do all my searching through the use of the advanced search page.  http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?action=search

It seems to help.

But I've also kinda memorized most of the posts ever made on these boards in the past 3 years through being a mod, soooooo I already have a good idea what I'm looking for ahead of time.

And from experience, I've found that if you already have a really good idea what you are looking for and where to look for it, it's much easier than starting out with nothing and trying to find something.
