Shortcut for Chat Tab Switching

Are shortcuts for the chat window in the works, per chance, or maybe a new idea for the chat window?  If so, then feel free to delete me.

So, for me, it'd be handy if I could hit [ and ] or something similar to scroll through the chat tabs instead of having to use the mouse, unless this is already possible?  I know /tellnpc swithes the chat window to the NPC tab automatically, if you say something, but I was looking for a way to switch to the chat tab of choice with a shortcut key either directly to the tab you want or a shortcut scrolling feauture?

I have not tested this but I think it works:

Setup some of your shortcuts and put in the body text '/say'  '/tellnpc'  '/tell' '/guild' '/group' and '/help'  in a seperate shortcut for each and without the quotes, link these to a shortcut key (a nice example would be 1 for /say and 2 for /tellnpc and so on). Then when you hit these keys it -should- switch to that tab without sending a message.

I was thinking of trying that, but seems you have to say something in order for it to switch tabs.  Gives you the error must enter text.  Here's what I checked.
/tellNPC X  --  switches
/tell PlayerName X  --  does not
/group X -- switches
/guild X -- does not

Have you logged a ticket in the bug tracker as a Feature Request? If not, please add a ticket. I would like to have a better way than using my mouse to check my blinking tabs...

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but since it's dealing with the chat system, I'd really like to see the current set tabs dumped for more general ones which can be set to what we want to see in them.  There are many instances where the same event puts a message in multiple windows, and then I have flashing tabs which get kind of annoying.  I would turn it off, but then I may miss other events that I do care about.  A generic window system that accepts all text but can be filtered is what I would request.  Then allow us to create new windows with different sets of filters.  This is how many other games have chosen to implement this feature, and it makes sense and works real well.
