Client shutdown
« on: July 22, 2008, 09:42:14 pm »
Hello, Since i ran the updater today my client has been randomly closing down. and VERY often, counted 6 crashes in 10 mins.

It happened a few times before updater ran but since i ran it has been million times worse!

I am not near any huge gfx, just standing crafting in trasoks, sometimes just standing talking.

I get no error messages, just client closes.

any ideas?

Were you close to anyone holding torches by any chance?

Hey Cilay,
What type of settings changes have you tried?  I've messed around with turning down a bunch of the settings, down to 15 and 16 bit color, even going to the worst possible settings on each of the others like anti-alias.  Usually I can "fix" things by doing that.  If it still crashes on you after that, then I'm wondering if we can rule out the graphics card.  Also, may be able to try a beta driver, if you have the patience for trying that out :).

Your not alone it's happening to me too. Crash after crash. looks like it stablizes sometimes and then it crashes again.

I have the same problem too. Especially in the sewers and the Death Realm, not much in hydlaa and Oja. The problem only happens when I move my char or try to click on something: at some point it was crash after crash with one of my chars everytime I was trying to make him move. I restarted and waited, doing absolutely nothing for a dozen minutes and it didn't crash actually. But as soon as I tried to move the char the client crashed.

The drivers of my graphic card are up to date and my specs are more than ok (I could run more than one client fluently!)
I've tried running the updater with checkintegrity but nothing failed the check. I tried tuning down the settings too, following StitchedChin advice, but that didn't help.
Everything was fine until today, so I don't think it has something to do with the recent update.

Finally, I've been asking around in game and found out other players having had the same problem recently, though a very few.

and some people can run 2 clients with intel graphic chips that does not mean they have great system stats. can you post your system stats so that we can tell you if that might contribute to this issue. also post the version of graphics card drivers you have installed.
