Planeshift on iPhone 3G

Nope its not a fake. I was able to run around and talking on the chat. Its not that easy to write in the chats, but it is possible.

This is really miffing me. I can't get my hand around it being real, but that' some pretty good photoshopping to add the reflection of the camera on the iPhone's screen.

Well, no its NOT a trick photo. Im not that good with photoshop ... actually i stink with photoshop.

To make it work, VNC is your friend ;-)

But i think its cool anyway. But i wouldn't want to play for hours this way ... waaayy too complicated. VNCs refresh rate is just not good enough.

Not that i dont belive this, but there is no need for Photoshop to fake it. Just take a screenie and display it as a photo on the iphone. As easy as that. People just think too much of Photoshop.

No, there is. Look at the photo, it's obviously not a simple screenie as you can see the reflection of light/the camera off the iPhone. Can't do that with simple cut an paste and make it look real.

No, the basic idea of some simple fake was:

1) Take a screenshot of PS on a PC
2) Tansfer the screenshot from the PC to the iPhone
3) Display the screenshot in an Image Viewer on the iPhone
4) Take a photo of the image in the viewer

Anyway - PlaneShift is not executed on the iPhone, just displayed. Still, it is impressive, you are using the iPhone as a kind of "remote control incl. monitor" for your PC then. Nice idea. A really "more advanced fake".

Dudes and dudettes...

I believe our lil mage here is referring to something else. He/she is running Planeshift on a real PC/Mac, and uses a remote desktop connection program (like VNC) to connect to it and play. I tried that too some time ago, but not with an iPhone. And yes, the refresh rate sucks so it's not very playable.
