In-Game Issue - Loosing Input Control
« on: July 30, 2008, 07:51:20 pm »
Hello!
First of all, excuse me for my poor english. This is not disrespect, just my bad knowledge of this language.

ABOUT PROBLEM:
Every time of playing PS ends with loosing control on my keyboard and a mouse (or touchpad - it doesnt matter). Mouse cursor simply disappears and not responding on any movements. Keyboard is not working as well, i mean not only PS keys, but neither OS hot keys. I can't terminate PlaneShift or ForceQuit it (but PS is not freezing and working normaly like OS - just no input). So there is only thing i can do - is nightmarish power off on my mac. Often it happens in 1-5 minutes of gameplay, but i can provoke it to happen instantly by using any 'mouse look' key.
I've tried also not to move and don't use buttons for a couple of time and i used to think that it is not showing what way.
I've tried fullscreen and window mode - it's all the same for this bug.
I've tried this bug on two characters.

I'm also did all things in README-osx and 'texture downsampling' in pssetup is 1/2.

And i didn't found anything worthy in my logs, except ordinary 'crash-on-quit' logs.
But no, there is some interesting string during engine initialization:
Code: [Select]
Sender[PID]: [0x0-0x28028].psclient[295]
Message: Parse error in /planeshift/shields/spicked_shield_04a.spr: Not a binary CS document

UPD:
Oh dear, Caarrie! I got it! Forgot to replace old psupdater.app. I did it once and updated but when i re-install'ed PlaneShift just forgot to do it again. >.< Will see what it will bring...

Heh, unfortunately, Caarrie, that happens even without tab, this is a question of couple minutes.

I'm getting weird... i'm just tested my client  for this bug on my friend's MacBook(Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 2Gb RAM, GMA950, Leo 5.4) and everything went fine.  ::|

since no dev or tester has the same system as you it will be hard to track down what might be the issue with your system.
